On Monday evening, the Israeli military claimed that a Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli passenger on a bus in Jerusalem, and a soldier on the bus shot and killed the man.
But the Israeli military account is contradictory, claiming that the victim of the stabbing attack was a civilian passenger, but that a soldier was taken to the hospital with light wounds. No civilian victim was identified or taken to the hospital, which has led to speculation that the Israeli military spokesperson's account may not be entirely accurate.
During the past two weeks of Israeli military and paramilitary violence against Palestinian civilians, the Israeli military has claimed that there have been eight incidents of Palestinians attempting to stab Israelis. But only one of these incidents has actually held up under scrutiny. The others remain questionable - particularly as the Israeli claim that the Palestinians 'stabbed' or 'attempted to stab' Israelis has been reported immediately after the incident, with no evidence presented or investigation of the claim.
On Monday alone, the Israeli military claimed that there were four incidents of Palestinians attempting to stab Israelis. Of these, one has video evidence showing the Palestinian pulling a knife when Israeli police attempt to search him. The other three, including this most recent incident on the bus, remain uninvestigated at this point, and the actual facts of the incidents remain unclear.
Following the incident on the bus, the Israeli Mayor of Jerusalem issued a statement in which he called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to further crack down on Palestinians protesting the conditions of life under Israeli occupation. The Mayor stated, "To our shock and horror, the cruelty of murderers who attack innocent civilians and children on their way home from school knows no limit, confronting us all with a shocking form of evil."
The Mayor's statement did not appear to include the attacks on Palestinian schoolchildren by Israeli military and paramilitary forces, such as the killing of 12-year old Abdul-Rahman Obeidallah in Bethlehem on his way home from school last week.
IOF shoots, kills Palestinian young man in Occupied Jerusalem
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot and killed a Palestinian young man Monday evening in occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli sources claimed that the young man was shot while trying to snatch an Israeli soldier’s weapon at the entrance to occupied Jerusalem on Monday evening.
The Israeli soldier was lightly wounded before the Palestinian was shot dead, the sources added.
Israeli media reported that the Palestinian was shot and killed after trying and failing to take an Israeli soldier's gun.
The Palestinian is the third to be killed by Israeli forces following a series of alleged stabbing attacks on the same day.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) condemns in the strongest terms the crime committed by Israeli forces on Monday morning, 12 October 2015, in occupied East Jerusalem, which resulted in killing Mostafa al-Khateeb on the grounds of suspicions, as this crime amounts to extra-judicial execution.
Committing such crimes as a policy adopted by Israeli forces is a translation of the decisions taken by the Israeli government and statements made by its members inciting for killing Palestinian civilians, who carry out and/or attempt to carry out stabbings against Israeli forces, police and settlers.
Furthermore, PCHR denounces this crime that is added to the series of Israeli crimes committed in East Jerusalem in particular, and the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) in general. Therefore, PCHR calls upon the international community to take immediate action and fulfill its legal and moral obligations to protect the Palestinian civilians in the oPt. PCHR believes that the silence of the international community towards these crimes encourages the Israeli government to continue its policy that violates international humanitarian law.
According to investigations conducted by PCHR, at approximately 08:20, on the abovementioned day, while Mostafa Adel al-Khateeb (18), from Sour Baher village south of occupied East Jerusalem, was inside his car near al-Asbat Gate, which is one of the Old City gates, Israeli forces ordered him to step out of the car to be searched. Once he did, Israeli forces directly opened fire at him, as he was putting his hand in his pocket, raising suspicion for Israeli forces of an attempt to stab Israeli soldiers in the area. As a result, he was killed by over 10 bullets; some bullets hit him in the head and others penetrated his body.
The Israeli police was confused when addressing the incident. In the first statement made by the Israeli police, it was reported that the young man had stabbed a settler. However, they issued another statement claiming that he stabbed an Israeli soldier, but a third statement claimed that he refused to obey the Israeli Border Guard officer's orders to be searched and that he was hiding a knife in his pocket to stab somebody over there. The final statement explained that he attempted to stab an Israeli soldier in the place, but the bulletproof vest protected the soldier.
It should be noted that this crime is the fifth of its kind committed by Israeli forces in Jerusalem within 10 days. On 03 October 2015, Israeli special officers killed Mohannad Shafiq Halabi (19) on the grounds of stabbing 2 settlers near the Hospice Hotel in al-Wad Street in the Old City. Few hours later, an Israeli police officer opened fire from a close range at Fadi Samir Mostafa Aloon (19), from al-Eisawiya village, northeast of East Jerusalem, as they claimed that he attempted to stab a 15-year-old settler. In addition, on 10 October 2015, Israeli police officers opened fire at Ishac Qasem Badran (16), from Kufor Aqeb north of the city, after he stabbed 2 settlers in al-Mesrara area, where he was left bleeding to death. Also on the same day, Israeli forces opened fire at Mohammed Sa'id Mohammed Ali (19), from Shu'fat refugee camp, after he stabbed 2 officers of the Israeli special forces in al-Amoud Gate area. As a result, Ali was immediately killed.
PCHR strongly condemns the use of excessive force by Israeli forces against the Palestinian civilians in disregard for their lives. PCHR stresses that in the above-mentioned cases, Israeli forces could have used less force against the victims or could have arrested them. PCHR calls upon the international community to take immediate and effective actions to put an end to such crimes and reiterates its call for the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 to fulfill their obligations under Article 1; i.e., to respect and to ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances, and their obligation under Article 146 to prosecute persons alleged to commit grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention. These grave breaches constitute war crimes under Article 147 of the same Convention and Protocol I Additional to the Geneva Conventions.

Video: “Palestinian Child Bleeds to Death while Israeli Police & Civilians Watch, Shouting Insults”
“Die, you son of a whore!! Die!!” shouted Israeli men at a seriously wounded Palestinian child, who was left to die while police stood around him doing nothing. One of the officers repeatedly pushed the boy down with his foot, whenever he tried to sit up.
While the child was bleeding to death, Israelis surrounded him, shouting at him in a mix of Arabic and Hebrew, “Die, you son of a whore!”, “Die, you son of the biggest whore!”, and telling the police to “Do him a favor, and shoot him in the head!”
The officers did not shoot him, but left him bleeding with head injuries, broken legs and other serious injuries on the ground. The boy was able to raise his head a few times, but the police officers kicked him back down until he bled to death.
The slain Palestinian child has been identified as Hasan Khaled Manasra, 15 years of age, while his cousin Ahmad Saleh Manasra, 13, suffered a serious injury. They are both from Beit Hanina, in Jerusalem.

The incident took place near Pisgat Zeev Israeli settlement, in occupied Jerusalem. The police claimed that the boys stabbed two settlers, wounding them.
A settler who chased the boys with his car also rammed Ahmad. But the police presented no evidence to connect the two children with the crime that they claimed the boys committed.
The following are some of the insults and curses hurled at the seriously wounded child before he died (warning: strong language):
“Die you fucker, die you son of a whore, die you son of a bitch…”
“Shoot him in the head, this son of a bitch”
“Die you son of a whore”
“Die you son of a bitch”
“Shoot him in the head, shoot him in the head!”
“Shoot him in the head, do him a favor”
The police eventually approached the Israelis, including the one who apparently was filming, and “asked them not to approach.”
Palestinian Presidency spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rodeina, said the execution of the child is an ugly Israeli crime committed by Israel in violation of every legal and humanitarian law, and demanded the apprehension of those responsible for his death.
He added that “If Israel continues its policies and violations, the entire region will reach a situation that cannot be contained, and everybody will pay a high price for that.”
Since October 1st, when two Israelis were killed in a ‘lone wolf’ attack by a Palestinian in Jerusalem, 26 Palestinians have been killed, including a pregnant woman and her two-year old child killed in an Israeli bombing on Sunday morning. Over 1200 Palestinians have been injured, many of them hit by live ammunition fired by Israeli troops at Palestinian demonstrators armed only with stones.
During that time period, no Israelis have been killed beyond the two who died in the October 1st attack, but six have been wounded in alleged attacks by Palestinians. No Palestinian faction has claimed responsibility for any attack, and it appears that the Palestinians who wounded Israelis were acting on their own.
In addition, Israeli authorities have been revealed on several occasions to have lied about the Palestinians they have killed – claiming falsely that the Palestinians had been attempting to stab or attack Israelis, but eyewitness and video evidence disproved this claim in a number of cases.

Mustafa 'Adel al-Khatib 18
The Israeli army is claiming a Palestinian teen stabbed a soldier near in Jerusalem’s Old City, and that the soldier’s vest prevented the knife from cutting him, before he opened fire and killed him. Eyewitnesses told Al-Jazeera Mubasher (Live) that the Palestinian was still in his car when he was shot dead.
According to the narrative of the Israeli military, "the Palestinian walked up to the officer and stabbed him."
Israeli Ynet News said the officer was not hurt in the alleged attack, and opened fire on the Palestinian, killing him instantly.
It added that, on Sunday evening, a Palestinian from Um alp-Fahem, "rammed four Israeli soldiers, and stabbed others."
Palestinian sources said the slain Palestinian teen in Jerusalem has been identified as Mustafa 'Adel al-Khatib, 18 years of age, from Sur Baher town, in occupied Jerusalem. He was killed near Bab al-Asbat (The Tribes Gate) in the city.
Eyewitnesses said Khatib, a high-school student, was driving his car in a narrow street between the al-Asbat Gate and Hatta Gate, in the Old City, before the soldiers ordered him to stop, and instantly opened fire on him.
A Palestinian medic told Al-Jazeera Mubasher that the slain teen "was shot while still in his car," after the soldiers suspected he intended to stab them, and that they fired several live rounds on him.
Israeli media outlets were very brief in detailing the events that led to the death of the Palestinian teen.
On Sunday evening, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that a child, identified as Ahmad Abdullah Sharaka, 13, from the al-Jalazoun refugee camp, died of serious wounds he suffered earlier in the day, after Israeli soldiers shot him, close to Beit El settlement, northeast of al-Biereh in the central West Bank district of Ramallah.
On Sunday at dawn, a Palestinian mother who was five months pregnant was killed along with her child, while at least four other family members were injured, after the Israeli Air Force bombarded the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
On Monday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli soldiers have killed 25 Palestinians, including eleven in the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of October (12 days), and that more than 1300 have been injured, including many who suffered life-threatening injuries.
Health Minister, Dr. Jawad Awwad, said eight of the slain Palestinians were children, an issue that proves Israel targets children with lethal force, especially since they were largely shot in the upper parts of their bodies.

A video showing a Palestinian father bidding farewell to his 2-year-old daughter provoked feelings of sorrow and outrage among Palestinians on social media websites on Sunday.
The video along with photos was published on social media websites showing a very touching scene of father Yahya Hassan, 30, bidding farewell to his little girl Rahaf.
The baby girl was killed when Israeli airstrikes shelled an agricultural land adjacent to the house of Hassan’s family in Gaza city.
Girl Rahaf and her mother Nour, who was pregnant in the five month, got killed in the Israeli aggression, whereas the father and his boy were injured.
Palestinians expressed their feelings of anger and outrage over the Israeli violation. They opined that killing of the child Rahaf and her mother is a crime for which Israeli leaders should be held accountable.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned of an escalation in the extrajudicial killings pursued by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the Palestinian territories.
The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean organization pointed out in a press statement on the 10th of Oct. that these operations have seen a remarkable rise in the past few days and months, "where the soldiers hasten to fire without the presence of a real threat to life and hasten to kill people, despite the ability to arrest them instead", calling world governments and the Human Rights Council to put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) to stop this disregard of human lives.
The Monitor said that: "The video recordings of one of the guard cameras at the central train station in the city of "Affula ", which (the recording) was published by various websites, clearly show the extent of recklessness practiced by the Israeli police forces on October 9th, 2015 when shots were fired at a Palestinian woman carrying the Israeli ID, claiming that she tried to stab a guard at the station, as seen on the video that the woman did not make any aggression, even on the assumption that the attack was not recorded, it is clear that the police forces were able to arrest the woman, and that she did not pose a real threat at the time they killed her with four bullets".
The Monitor noted that the eyewitnesses of the incident confirmed to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor that the woman, called Isra Abed, 29, was very scared and panicked when she found herself among a group of soldiers who pointed rifles at her, shouting at her to remove the veil she was wearing on her head and to throw her purse, but she refused to do so and raised her hands up and begged them not to shoot her.
In the same context, an Israeli policeman killed the Palestinian youth "Thaer Abu Ghazaleh," from Jerusalem, after Abu Ghazaleh had stabbed a female Israeli soldier with a sharp object in her neck, then stabbed three others, causing them minor injuries. He then escaped from the place, but an Israeli officer saw him and fired at him making him unable to move.
Israeli police announced that the death of the young man was the result of the chase, but the photos published of the young man lying on the ground after the killing, showed that the injury he received were directly in the head, the place where the bullet hit him appeared on the ground next to his head, giving an indication that his head was on the ground when the bullet was fired at him, meaning that he was deliberately killed after being unable to move due to the first shot.
The Euro-Mediterranean Monitor pointed out that 5 days before, on Sunday 04/10/2015, an Israeli occupation police force killed the Palestinian young man, "Fadi Samir Mustafa Alloun, 19, a resident of the village of Issawiya, near Jerusalem, claiming that he stabbed an Israeli then fled.
The girl Hadeel Hashlamon, 18, from the city "Hebron" was killed at an Israeli checkpoint (known as the barrier 56, Palestinians are prohibited from passing through the area except those who live there). Israeli authorities said then that the teen’s killing was after the "siren at the checkpoint sounded, the soldiers asked her to stop but she continued her way, so they shot towards the ground close to her", adding that "the girl raised a knife which was with her so they shot her again", which led to her death due to the injury in the upper part of her body and in her legs, according to the spokesman of an Israeli hospital to which she was transferred after being shot.
However, a foreign volunteer who coincided to be at the place has captured pictures which confirm along with the testimony of some of those who were at the checkpoint, including the witness, "Fawaz Abu Aisha", who lives near the scene, that the girl did not pose a threat to the soldiers when they killed her, but because one of the soldiers was suspicious and she did not respond to the demand of the soldiers to throw a bag she was carrying, he had fired a shot at her left leg, so she fell to the ground, and then, the knife she was hidden in her hand fell.
But the soldier did not stop at that, although he was able to arrest her after she had fallen to the ground as she did not move after that, but the soldier fired another bullet on her right leg, then approached her and shot her with several bullets on different parts of her body in particular on her chest and stomach from just one meter distance, then stopped for a moment before shooting another bullet on her chest.
Despite the presence of an Israeli army camera at the checkpoint, the Zionist authorities refused to publish what the camera recorded which gives an indication of the nature of the crime committed and that the girl did not pose a threat when she was killed.
Violation of the law
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor clarified that these acts constitute offenses for the " Principles of Effective Prevention and Investigation of Extra-legal, Arbitrary and Summary Executions" adopted by the Economic and Social Council in (1989), which banned the extra-legal, arbitrary and summary executions without trial, and called for the criminalization and punishment of those who carry out these crimes.
These principles stipulate that the use of firearms against persons is only permissible if there is an imminent threat of death or serious injury; or to prevent the perpetration of a particularly serious crime, with the lack of alternatives to end this threat.
As stipulated in Article (2) of the "Code of staff of Conduct for Law Enforcement Officials (1979) on duty staff, as army and police individuals, to use firearms only as a maximum procedure, "the use of firearms should be avoided", it stipulated also that "firearms should be used only when a suspected offender offers armed resistance or putting the lives of others at risk in another way and when less extreme measures are not sufficient to restrain or arrest the suspect".
Documented incidents
The Euro-Mediterranean pointed out that the members of the Israeli army violated these instructions not only in the mentioned incidents, but in several incidents for example: in 08/17/2015, an Israeli border guard soldier killed the young man Mohammed Bassam Amsha, 25, a resident near Jenin district, while passing on the Israeli barrier "Za'atara", north of Nablus, claiming that he was carrying a knife and tried to stab a soldier at the checkpoint. However, the witnesses who were there when the young man "Amsha" was killed; confirmed that they did not see any knife with him.
On Thursday 23/7/2015, members of the Israeli army killed "Falah Hamdi Zamel Abu Maria", 53, from the governorate of Hebron, they shot him directly with live bullets, and that when they broke into his home to arrest his son, where they shot his son first, which made the father angry so he threw a pottery vase on the soldiers from the balcony of his house, so soldiers fired three bullets to his chest killing him, while the Israeli authorities claimed that the "desired family refused to implement the arrest warrant and assaulted the soldiers who responded by firing bullets toward the lower part of his body then was transferred for treatment, and then the Israeli force left the house. "
According to the Haidar Abu Maria, Falah's son, the soldiers had assaulted his father by beating him upon their arrival to the house to arrest his brother, and then opened fire at his brother "Mohammed" who was hit by two bullets, where his condition was described as serious, his father lost his temper and began cursing soldiers, screaming at them and asking them to get out of the house, so they shot at his chest, then blocked the arrival of ambulances, which led to his death.
Serious investigation
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor called on the Israeli authorities, to conduct a real investigation into the events mentioned in this statement, and in other similar incidents, and bring those responsible to trial.
The Euro-Mediterranean said that, "The failure of the Israeli army to conduct such investigations and reach real results and to hold the perpetrators accountable, give the green light to further human rights violations and disregard for their lives."
The Euro-Mediterranean called the States Parties to the Geneva Convention, to play an active action, to put pressure on the Israeli authorities, and to ensure respect for the provisions of the Convention, particularly the right to life, which violation arbitrarily is "a serious violation of the Convention," and "a war crime", under the Charter of Rome governing the International Criminal Court.
In the same context, the "Palestinians in Europe Conference," announced that it is following closely the "development of the serious situation in the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem especially after the cold-blooded killings practiced by the Israeli soldiers, with a governmental and legal protection from the relevant authorities".
The conference called in a statement, the European Union (EU) to shoulder its responsibilities towards the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and stressed that "the current silence by the Union is an indirect contribution to justify the killings and the continued violation of the most basic human rights in the occupied territories."
The statement warned that "violations against the population of the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem reached significant levels and cannot be tolerated, and that this would bring spontaneous popular reactions in light of all the loss of precious life choices".
The statement said that, "the reaction has begun through the Palestinian young people uprising (intifada) in all parts of the West Bank, which formed the popular protest movement trying to deliver its message to the world and to the occupation powers which is committing a crime after the other without accountability".
The statement said that "the killing machine owned by the occupation with the support of major countries, however, have freed the hand of its terrorism to face the Jerusalem Intifada, without limitation or obligation of any of the international law and human rights standards, and in conjunction with the deafening silence of the international community that the Palestinians are accustomed to its double positions with regard to the protection of the occupation and to covering its crimes".
"Palestinians in Europe Conference" stressed that it is standing one word, and one hand in the face of murder and crime, and to protect life in Palestine, and called on major and influential countries, especially in Europe, to stand with the Palestinians' right to life.
The conference announced that it will initiate a series of sit-ins and events; in support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist killing and destruction machine. video video
