The Hamas Movement has condemned Israel’s persistence in targeting resistance posts in the Gaza Strip as “a message of escalation and aggression.”
In press remarks on Saturday, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that Israel’s renewed aerial attacks on Gaza were aimed to divert attention from what he described as “the acts of courage taking place in the occupied West Bank.”
Barhoum stressed, according to Days of Palestine, that the Palestinian operations in the West Bank messed up Israel’s calculations and deepened its internal crises, adding that the resistance would not allow the Israeli occupation state to export its crises to Gaza.
Israeli warplanes, early this morning, attacked several targets throughout the Gaza Strip, causing damage but no injuries, according to WAFA correspondence.
The targets reportedly included open areas east of Tuffah, a suburb of Gaza City, as well as farms east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
Missiles fired by the warplanes caused big holes in the ground and damage to areas but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Israel claims the attack came after its Iron Dome missiles intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza into southern Israel.

Israeli warplanes at dawn Saturday bombed several sites in the Gaza Strip, with no reported casualties.
Local sources told a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that airstrikes targeted a plot of cultivated land near the eastern cemetery in the east of Gaza City and a site in the east of al-Tuffah neighborhood.
They added that at least four air-to-surface missiles were also fired by a warplane towards an agricultural tract of land in the east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the aerial attacks, which only caused widespread panic among civilians in Gaza.
The Israeli occupation army claimed the air raids were in response to the launch of rockets from Gaza towards Israeli areas.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that Israel’s anti-missile batteries, the Iron Dome, intercepted only one Palestinian rocket while two others landed in open areas of land near Sderot settlement in the Negev.

At least two Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces during the weekly anti-settlements protest in the village of Kufur Qaddoum in the northern West Bank, local sources said.
Morad Eshteiwi, coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers attacked the protesters by rubber-coated rounds and chased some of them, injuring two protesters by rubber-coated rounds. The two were treated at the scene.
For many years, villagers from Kufur Qaddoum and neighboring villages have been organizing a nonviolent protest on Fridays against illegal Israeli settlements, and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road, which has been sealed by the occupation authorities since 2002.

Four non-violent demonstrators were injured, and dozens of others were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation as Israeli troops attacked on Friday a nonviolent protest organized at the village of Kufer Malek, east of the central west Bank city of Ramallah.
Among those injured were Jamiel Qassass, who was hit with a rubber coated steel bullet. Israeli peace activists Udi Gor, Shai Iluk, Toli Flint and Nathan Lindou all sustained injuries after being attacked by Israeli troops. All four activists are from Combatants for Peace Movement. The protest started at midday, and was organized by the local village council, the Fatah party, and the Combatants for Peace Movement and in coordination with the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements. |

Beginning in the early morning hours Friday, the Israeli army closed all streets leading to Kufer Malek.
The protesters divided themselves into two groups. The first group started from the center of the village towards the Israeli settlement outpost constructed on stolen village land.
When they neared the outpost, the Israeli forces launched a barrage of tear gas canisters and sprayed demonstrators with chemical water that generated a bad smell. As a result, dozens suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
In addition, due to the dry, hot conditions, the firing of tear gas led to fires that burnt large areas of farmers’ land.
The second group, from Combatants for Peace Movement, managed to reach Alon settlers road, adjacent to the village. The road was shortly closed by the demonstrators before Israeli forces attacked the activists by beating them, firing tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets towards them and spraying them with chemical water that generated a bad smell, four were injured.
Moreover, the tear gas fired by Israeli troops caused a fire in the nearby crops belonging to the villagers. The villagers managed to bring in fire engines to put out the fire.
At the end of the protest, Governor Abdel Fattah Hamayel gave a speech welcoming the solidarity activists and praised the efforts of the activist groups like Combatants for Peace against settlement expansion and the occupation.
Mr. Jaafar Hamayel, a member of the Fatah regional committee in Ramallah, said, “The aggression of the occupation against us today will increase our determination to continue the journey until we stop the theft of our water and land by the settlers.”
“Today’s activity is the beginning of a peaceful resistance campaign aimed at stopping the theft of Palestinian land by Israeli occupation and settlers,” said Adam Rabie, activity Coordinator for Combatants for Peace.
For seven years, the Israeli settlers from the Kfar Shahar colonial settlement have been expanding their settlement and seizing the land of the village under the protection of Israeli soldiers as part of a plan to link and expand the settlement at the expense of the Palestinian farmers.

The Hamas Movement has described Israeli Blue and White party chief Benny Gantz’s threat to kill its leaders during any new war on Gaza as “an attempt to woo Israeli voters.”
“Gantz has to remember — when he was chief of staff — how the resistance’s response was to the aggression against the Gaza Strip during the battles of as-Sijeel and al-Asef al-Makoul,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stated on Thursday.
“The Zionist entity paid for the crimes that had been committed by its army when Gantz was in office. At the time, the resistance fired hundreds of missiles at Tel Aviv, Occupied Jerusalem and Haifa, which led vital facilities to shut down and sent millions of settlers to shelters. The so-called population of the Gaza envelope lived the worst moments in their lives, and al-Qassam was able to capture soldiers,” spokesman Qasem said.
“The resistance’s response to any new Israeli crime will be many times stronger than before,” the spokesman added.
Gantz recently threatened more than once to assassinate Hamas leaders during any new round of fighting in Gaza.
Blue and White is a new right-wing party led by former army chief of staff Benny Gantz. The party was established recently to run in the April 2019 Knesset elections.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday stormed Beit Kahil town, north of al-Khalil, raided homes and clashed with local young men.
According to local sources, a large number of Israeli troops raided once again the homes of two detainees from the family of Asafera, who were accused of killing an Israeli soldier recently in Etzion settlement bloc, south of the occupied West Bank.
Several citizens reportedly suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes during clashes with the IOF in the town.
A few days ago, the IOF broke into the homes of Asafera and mapped them as a prelude to demolishing them.
Such measure is part of a systematic policy used by Israel to punish families of Palestinians who carry out attacks against Jewish settlers or soldiers.
