A Palestinian young workman from east Jerusalem survived a murder attempt after extremist Jewish settlers from an Israeli settlement on the western side of the holy city inveigled him into coming to their area.
21-year-old Anas Manasrah, from Silwan district, told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that he had survived a physical assault targeting his life after a Jewish settler phoned him and craftily enticed him into coming to his home in Beit Shemesh settlement, west of Jerusalem, in order to install curtains.
Manasrah, who provides curtain installation services, explained further that he had gone along with his father to the home address of the caller in Beit Shemesh where a group of about seven settlers suddenly attacked them, forcing them to engage in a hand-to-hand fight with them.
He added that Israeli policemen came to the area but did not arrest the assailants, noting that an anonymous person talked to him over the phone in Hebrew recently and threatened to burn him alive as happened to the Palestinian child Mohamed Abu Khudair months ago.
In previous killing incidents, the Palestinian natives in the holy city accused the Israeli police of connivance after they did not work seriously on arresting the Jewish killers who burned 16-year-old Mohamed Abu Khudair alive last year and who lynched a Palestinian bus driver in the holy city.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Tuesday stormed the house of Hamas leader Nazih Abu Oun, in Jenin city, and stole his money and destroyed whatever came in their way.
Dozens of IOF troops broke into the house of the 53-year-old Nazih at around 2.30 a.m. and locked up all the family members in one single room, shortly before they scoured the house and crashed our belongings and furniture under the pretext of search, Abu Oun’s family members told the PIC.
The IOF soldiers misappropriated whatever family funds that had come in their way, estimated at some 2,600 shekels, and refused to hand the family any document corroborating the misappropriation, the family said.
The family said though the assault has not been the first of its kind, as the IOF soldiers have stormed the house over the past few years for over 15 times, it has nevertheless been the most brutal and caused unprecedented damage.
The raid fell in line with a decision issued by the Israeli Salem court afternoon Monday ruling for the adjournment of a court hearing to look into the set of indictments filed against Abu Oun on charges of affiliation with Hamas.
Earlier, Abu Oun had been locked up at the Israeli occupation jails for over 13 years under the same allegations.
Detainee Abu Oun, re-captured 10 months ago, has been diagnosed with critical heath disorders, namely chronic stomachaches and severe back pains.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at noontime Monday opened machinegun fire at two peaceful rallies staged near Gaza’s eastern borders to push for lifting the blockade and pressing ahead with reconstruction.
The mass rallies were staged by the national committee to break the siege and launch reconstruction in eastern Jabaliya and Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza.
“The IOF troops unleashed volleys of gunfire in an attempt to disband the rally-goers, who lifted Palestinian flags and banners calling for breaking the siege and launching reconstruction, a local activist told the Quds Press.
Israeli media outlets claimed the young protesters moved toward the border fence and raised Palestinian flags on it to the northeast of the Gaza Strip.
Observes said the attack is another episode in the series of Israeli violations of the Cairo-brokered truce accord signed on August, 26 last year between Palestinian resistance factions and the Israeli occupation.

Israeli warplanes, Monday, carried out mock air raids in a limited incursion over Gaza skies, while Israeli navy gunboats opened fire at fishermen off the Gaza shore, according to WAFA correspondence.
Israeli F16s flew over the Gaza Strip at low altitude and launched mock raids over the region, in addition to sailing heat balloons into the air, which Israel uses to divert intense anti-aircraft fire.
Loud explosions were heard across the Strip, spreading fear and panic among residents, and particularly children.
Meanwhile, Israeli naval troops targeted fishing boats sailing within the six-nautical miles allowed for fishing. However, no injuries were reported among them.
Fishermen were forced to leave the sea for fear of being killed, injured or arrested.
Israel continues to breach the Egyptian-brokered truce agreement reached on August 26th of 2014, following 51 days of bloody aggression on the Strip.
During the ceasefire indirect talks, Israel agreed to extend the fishing zone to six nautical miles, a term that was stipulated under the 2012 ceasefire agreement, but was rescinded by Israel only months later.
The current fishing zone falls drastically short of the twenty nautical miles allocated to Palestinian fishermen under the 1993 Oslo Accords.

Scores of Palestinian young men suffered from inhaling tear gas and some others sustained physical injuries during violent clashes last night with Israeli invading troops in Aja town, south of Jenin city.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that a large number of Israeli troops aboard military vehicles stormed the town, blocked its entrance near Jenin-Nablus road, and spread in its central neighborhoods.
The military presence in the town angered the local young men and prompted them to throw stones and empty bottles at the soldiers, who, in turn, fired tear gas grenades at the protesters and caused many of them to suffocate from inhaling gas fumes.
Other young men were physically assaulted by the invading troops, including 22-year-old Mohamed Suleiman, who suffered severe bruises in his head, chest and abdomen.

Israeli forces attacked Palestinian and foreign activists who marched in protest of the ongoing closure of the road linking Surif with Al-Jaba‘ village, to the southwest of Bethlehem, beating them with the butts of their rifles and firing tear gas canisters and stun grenades at them.
Several Palestinians sustained bruises across their bodies while others suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas.
Marching activists waived Palestinian flags and chanted slogans demanding the removal of the metal gate that has been separating Surif from Al-Jabʻa for the past fourteen years.
Israel closed off the road with metal gates, rocks and sand barriers to facilitate safe movement for settlers traveling in and out of Gush Etzion settlement bloc, to the north of Hebron, cutting off the two villages from one another.
Despite the deployment of Israeli forces in the area and declaring it a closed military zone, activists managed to plant dozens of olive saplings in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners, particularly Malak Al-Khatib, age 14, the youngest female prisoner in Israeli jails, said Coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlement in Hebron, Rateb al-Jabour.
Al-Jabour pledged that activists would continue to protect vulnerable Palestinian lands against expanding settlement construction, through farming them and reinforcing farmers’ resilience.
Defiant activists attempted to remove the metal gate that obstruct movement between Surif and Al-Jabʻa and planted an olive sapling dedicated to captured Jordanian fighter pilot Mu‘az al-Kassasbeh, who was burned to death in a cage by the Western-backed "Islamic State" proxy militia.
