Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith told WAFA the child was taken to Hadassah hospital where lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful.
According to WAFA reporter, Qais Abu Rmaileh, 8, was found in a very critical condition after hours of being in very cold conditions. He was found under a wooden plank with his head stuck in the mud.
The governor held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for his death, stressing that the authorities should have sealed the open water ditches to prevent children's access to them.
The governor extended his condolences to the child’s family and thanked Palestinian residents in Beit Hanina, who came together to help find the child following his disappearance, calling for unity in the face of the Israeli occupation.
At least 23 people were injured last night after Israeli police attacked hundreds of residents who went on a rally demanding the Israeli authorities to take serious measures to search for and reveal the fate of the child. video video
Forces further closed Qalandia and Shuafat military checkpoints and prevented Palestinians’ entry into Jerusalem.

Missing Jerusalemite kid found dead in flooded pit near house
The eight-year-old Palestinian child from east Jerusalem’s neighborhood of Beit Hanina who was reported missing on Friday was found dead in a flooded ditch on Saturday morning, according to local medical sources.
Rescue forces found Qusai Abu Ramileh at the bottom of the pit after pumping out rainwater flooding it adjacent to a construction site and the boy's house.
Abu Ramileh’s family reported he had been missing since 4 pm on Friday, according to the Israeli occupation police.
Police forces and scores of residents of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina searched for the boy in the area.
Abu Ramileh’s relatives initially claimed that the boy was kidnapped, providing the police with video footage in which he was seemingly seen walking alongside an unidentified man. Later, the victim’s father said that the boy seen in the footage was not his son. One of Abu Ramileh’s relatives said that the family has no inner disputes nor it is involved in feuds with other families in the neighborhood.
Abu Ramileh went to the grocery store Friday afternoon and never came back, his family said. Hundreds marched from Beit Hanina to the Jewish settlement of Neve Yaakov in the northern area of east Jerusalem while searching for the boy.
According to the Red Crescent, at least 19 Palestinians were injured in clashes with police forces, who blocked roads to the settlement. The police claimed that dozens of Palestinians hurled stones at its officers, adding three citizens were detained.

Israeli soldiers killed, on Tuesday evening, three young Palestinian men near the perimeter fence, in central Gaza, after the army alleged they breached the fence and hurled grenades.
The army claimed that the three managed to breach the fence and advanced approximately 400 meters, before they hurled a grenade, or an explosive, at a military post.
According to the army, the soldiers fired many live rounds, and shells, at the three Palestinians, leading to their death.
Palestinians in Gaza said the soldiers executed the three Palestinians, and were not in any danger, especially since they ordered them to remove their clothes before killing them, the Maan News Agency has reported.
The three slain Palestinians have been identified as Mohammad Hani Abu Mandeel, 18, Salem Zuweid an-Na’ami, 18, and Mahmoud Khaled Sa’id, 18.
The three were from al-Maghazi Central Gaza.
The corpses of the three Palestinians remain held by the army.

No further detail was immediately available about the victims.
The Israeli army regularly guns down Palestinians in Gaza, accusing them of attempting to enter the occupied territories or carrying out attacks on its forces.
About 310 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces ever since the anti-occupation protests began in Gaza. More than 18,000 other Palestinians have also sustained injuries.
The Gaza clashes reached their peak on May 14, 2018, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.
Gaza has been under Israeli siege since June 2007, which has caused a decline in living standards.
Israel has also launched three major wars against the enclave since 2008, killing thousands of Gazans each time and shattering the impoverished territory’s already poor infrastructure.

Mahdi Armilat 36
Unexploded ordnance from previous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip blew up on Saturday, killing one Palestinian citizen and seriously wounding another.
According to the health ministry, 36-year-old Mahdi Armilat died and one suffered serious injuries when suspicious objects, believed to be Israeli bombs, detonated at them in two separate incidents in Rafah area, south of Gaza.
The Gaza Strip is currently littered with a large number of unexploded Israeli projectiles left over from different Israeli aerial and artillery attacks on Gaza.
Although Gaza police explosives teams work across the coastal territory to destroy unexploded ordnance and prevent safety threats to locals, lack of proper equipment due to the Israeli siege make such efforts difficult.
