Israeli forces detained a 15-year-old Palestinian near the Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron’s Old City, in the southern occupied West Bank, on late Tuesday.
Local sources said that the Palestinian minor, who was identified as Khalil Muhammad Ahmad al-Birawi, a resident from Yatta City, in southern Hebron, was detained for allegedly having a knife in his possession.
Israeli forces have detained scores of Palestinians, many of them minors, for allegedly being in possession of knives following a spate of alleged and actual small-scale knife attacks by Palestinians that surged in the fall of 2015.
Hebron in particular grew as the epicenter of upheaval, with a number of Palestinians having been shot while being detained at military checkpoints in the area.
Eyewitnesses have also said in a number of cases that Israeli security forces planted knives on slain or imprisoned Palestinians to claim that they were acting in self-defense during a stabbing attack.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,500 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 230 are child prisoners and 41 are under the age of 16 years.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot and killed late Monday a Palestinian young man after an alleged stabbing attack near Hawara checkpoint in Nablus, to the north of West Bank.
Palestinian security sources confirmed that 36-year-old Mohamed Fawzi Adawi was killed on Monday at Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus.
Israeli forces, stationed at the checkpoint, opened fire at the young man who was later proclaimed dead, the sources added.

Palestinian young men on Wednesday attacked an Israeli military checkpoint in Occupied Jerusalem with Molotov cocktails.
According to the Hebrew website 0404, Palestinian youths threw at least two Molotov cocktails at the Israeli checkpoint of Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem.
Local youths also hurled stones at an Israeli vehicle near Ras al-Amud neighborhood in Silwan district and caused material damage to it.

An Israeli settler was allegedly stabbed on Wednesday in the Armon Hanatziv illegal settlement built on Palestinian land in Jabal al-Mukabbir, south of occupied Jerusalem, Hebrew-speaking sources reported.

Local sources said that a Palestinian girl was injured after she was shot by IOF soldiers who claimed that she did not respond to their orders to stop.
The same sources said that the IOF, following the incident, closed Za'tara checkpoint and blocked Palestinian movement in both directions.
Several Hebrew media sources claimed that the girl was shot for attempting to stab Israeli soldiers.

One Jewish settler was injured after the bus he was driving came under gunfire attack near the illegal settlement of Beit El, north of al-Bireh city in the occupied West Bank.
According to Hebrew news reports, an Israeli bus hit concrete blocks on a road near Beit El and the driver was slightly injured during the shooting attack.
