Two masked men coming from Silwan threw Molotov cocktails in what Jerusalem councilman Aryeh King says is the 49th attack on his home since August.
Two Molotov cocktails were hurled at Jerusalem councilman Aryeh King's house in Ma'ale ha-Zeitim on Tuesday night.
The firebombs thrown at the right-wing activist's home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood set laundry hung to dry in the porch on fire, but no one was hurt. The incident was documented by security cameras. The footage shows two masked men running from the direction of Silwan towards the house, throwing the Molotov cocktails and then running away.
King's wife, who was home during the incident, called the police. According to King, "since August last year there have been 49 attacks on the house - these are the ones reported to police. It doesn't include times we came home, like during Passover, and saw stones on the porch.
Despite all of that, we do not know of one suspect brought in front of a judge." King, who was a short distance away from the house when the attack occurred, chased the perpetrators but failed to catch the two men.
In addition to the firebombs, flares were fired at houses in the neighborhood from the direction of Arab neighborhood Ras al-Amud. (Video on the link)

Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, hailed the stabbing of two Israeli soldiers on Wednesday morning by a Palestinian man south of Shilo settlement to the north of the West Bank.
Hamas spokesman abroad Husam Badran said, in a statement published on Hamas official website, “The heroic operation is a natural response to the Israeli growing extremism and aggressive practices against the Palestinian people especially the ceaseless incursions into the Aqsa Mosque and the siege on Gaza”.
He hailed the Palestinian man who did the stabbing “as he was brave enough to target two soldiers with only a knife whereas heavily-armed IOF soldiers deliberately kill Palestinian children, women and other civilians”.
He said, “This indicates that the Palestinian people are determined to continue resistance of the Israeli occupation despite the Israeli violence and the continuation of security coordination between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Israel.
Badran urged the PA leaders to allow resistance in the West Bank in order to practice its natural role of defending the Palestinian people and its sacred places.
In the same context, Palestinian official sources disclosed the identity of the Palestinian man who carried out the attack at noon Wednesday near Synjil town to the north of Ramallah city. Two IOF soldiers were injured; one of them was seriously wounded.
The Mayor of Synjil town Ayoub Suweid announced, in a press statement, that the Palestinian who did the stabbing is a 30-year-old man called Mohammad Jaser Karakrah from the town.
The father and brother of Karakrah hardly recognized him as the IOF soldiers killed him by shooting in the face which changed his features, and because he was not holding his identity card.
The IOF earlier on Wednesday stormed several Palestinian towns and villages and asked their mayors to come to the scene to identify the killed Palestinian man.

A group of Palestinian activists on Thursday morning blocked a main road connecting the illegal Israeli settlement Ma’ale Adumim with occupied Jerusalem.
Coordinator for the popular resistance committees in the southern West Bank, Mohamed Muheisen, said Palestinian activists closed a road used by Jewish settlers and their vehicles near Ma’ale Adumim in response to Israel's checkpoints and random makeshift roadblocks in the West Bank.
The closure resulted in obstructing the traffic for some time, during which the protestors were able to raise Palestinian flags on the road before Israeli soldiers showed up and unblocked it, Muheisen added.
He asserted that the popular resistance in the West Bank would keep on devising non-violent ways to confront the Israeli occupation and its settlers, and thwart any move to impose new faits accomplis on the ground.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman renewed his call for the execution of Palestinians who carry out resistance attacks against the Israeli occupation.
Lieberman was commenting Friday on the Jerusalem attack in which a Palestinian driver ran over a number of Israeli conscripts in Occupied Jerusalem. The resistance operation resulted in the injury of six Israeli soldiers, according to Israeli policemen who immediately shot and seriously wounded the Palestinian man.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) deliberately shoot to kill the Palestinians who conduct such actions as evident in similar previous attacks.
For his part, Hamas spokesman abroad Hosam Badran stressed the Palestinians’ right of resistance. He opined that the run over operation demonstrates the insistence of the Palestinian people on the resistance option.
The Hamas spokesman told Quds Press that the “heroic operation” is a clear message to the world that the Palestinians have the right to respond to Israeli crimes including desecration of the Aqsa Mosque, the continuation of settlement in the West Bank, and the siege on the Gaza Strip.
Regarding to the Palestinian Central Council (PCC) decision of ending the security coordination with the Israeli occupation, Badran said “we look positively at the decision, whilst the actual implementation is the only indication for its seriousness”.
He pointed out that the first step towards the enforcement of the PCC decision should include releasing all of the political detainees from the Palestinian Authority jails as well as halting the arrests and summonses on political grounds.
