An armed Palestinian resistance group fired, Wednesday, a mortar shell on Israeli military vehicles, operating near the border fence, east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The army also fired two shells targeting Hamas fighters.
Israeli sources claimed the army responded to a mortar shell targeting army vehicles operating close to the border fence, and that the soldiers fired several shells at the source of fire.
The Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas said the army fired two shells on one of its field units, and a monitoring tower, used by the fighters close to the border, east of Rafah, leading to property damage.
Also on Wednesday, the Israeli Radio said an explosive charge detonated near the border fence, causing no damage or injuries.
Earlier on Wednesday, several armored Israeli army vehicles and bulldozers invaded a border area, east of Rafah, before army diggers started looking for tunnels.

An Israeli force came under fire Tuesday evening near Nahal Oz settlement east of Gaza causing damage to engineering equipment. The Israeli force replied by intensive shooting towards the Strip.
No casualties were reported in both sides.
According to the Israeli 0404 website, the shooting followed the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s tour along with the army minister Moshe Ya'alon, Chief of the army's General Staff Gadi Eizenkot, and Commander of the southern region Eyal Zamir in settlements near the Gaza Strip.
During the tour, Netanyahu checked the tunnel of al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Movement, which was discovered recently by the Israeli army east of Rafah city.

Israeli authorities say that they used a city-wide system of surveillance cameras to track down and arrest an 18-year old suspect for allegedly stabbing an Israeli man near Lion’s Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Neither the alleged perpetrator or victim were identified by the Israeli police at the time of this report.
The alleged victim said that he was stabbed by a Palestinian in the chest, after which he called the police.
Police say they then activated the Mabat 2000 surveillance camera network, which feeds live video into a central station.
According to the Jerusalem Post, “The cameras can be maneuvered 360 degrees to follow and track movements – and range from the aerial view of a parking lot to the searing detail of a single license plate.”
Police say they tracked the young man using the surveillance network, and captured him near the Western Wall.
The alleged knife attack follows days of attacks by Israeli troops and police against worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the third holiest site in Islam. The attacks included violent arrests of a number of elders who serve as keepers of the Mosque.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot and injured on Thursday evening a Palestinian young woman and arrested another at Beit Huroun checkpoint west of Ramallah following an alleged stabbing attack.
The IOF claimed that the two Palestinian females were arrested, one of whom was shot and injured by Israeli soldiers, after they allegedly attempted to stab a soldier near the Israeli illegal settlement of Beit Huroun.
The Israeli sources said that the two female detainees attempted to stab soldiers stationed at a security crossing adjacent to route 443. Israeli forces fired at one of them and arrested the second.
Palestinian Red Crescent crews were prevented from reaching the scene or to provide the injured young woman with medical aid.
Shortly following the alleged attack, Israeli forces closed all roads leading to the nearby village of Beit Ur al-Tahta. The incident comes a day after Israeli forces shot and killed a pregnant Palestinian woman and her 16-year-old brother after an alleged stabbing attack at Qalandiya military checkpoint near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
With the Palestinian death rate climbing as Israeli forces continue their crackdown on Palestinian protesters across the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip's border, Israel's controversial policy of extrajudicial killing is once again being questioned.
Amnesty International has recently released a report titled, "No Justification for deliberate attacks on civilians, unlawful killings by Israeli forces, or collective punishment of Palestinians". The report said that many of the Israeli killings come close to the definition of extrajudicial killings.
Israeli forces shoot, injure Palestinian, detain another after alleged stab attempt
Two Palestinian teens were arrested, one of whom was shot and injured by Israeli forces, after the two allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli soldier Thursday at a military checkpoint in the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta in the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that “assailants attempted to stab soldiers stationed at a security crossing adjacent to route 443. Responding to the imminent danger, forces fired towards one of the attackers and she is now receiving medical care."
She was taken to Israel's Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem where she was in moderate-to-serious condition, according to Israeli media.
The second assailant reportedly attempted to escape at the scene, but was later apprehended without being fired on and taken in for interrogation by Israeli forces.
According to Israeli news outlet The Jeruslam Post, the two were both 14-year-old females.
There were no injuries on the Israeli side.

Knives used at Qalandia checkpoint
The incident comes a day after Israeli forces shot and killed a pregnant Palestinian woman and her 16-year-old brother after they allegedly attempted to carry out a stab attack on border police at Qalandiya military checkpoint near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Witnesses at the scene said the two siblings posed no threat at the time the Israeli officer killed them.
Their deaths came in the wake of mass criticism towards what has been termed Israel’s policy of “extrajudicial executions” towards Palestinians, which most recently came under spotlight after an Israeli soldier was caught on film shooting a prone Palestinian through the head from feet away.
Popular Palestinian support for stab attacks -- widely explained by Palestinian and international leadership as a natural response to the effects of the ongoing Israeli military occupation -- has hovered below fifty percent for the past two months, according to polls, coinciding with a relative drop in the frequency of such attacks that initially surged in October.
A reduction in stab attacks has been attributed to security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, as well as to general public sentiments that the attacks are not effective in resistance against the occupation, according to polls.

13 Israeli settlers are still in hospitals, receiving treatment for injuries they have sustained in Monday's bomb attack on a bus in Occupied Jerusalem, according to the Hebrew radio on Tuesday.
One of the wounded has suffered very serious injuries in the attack, the radio noted.
The Israeli occupation police said they launched an investigation to find out where the explosive device came from and who placed it on the bus.
The blast occurred at about 5:50 p.m. in southwest Jerusalem. It is the first bombing attack since the current intifada (uprising) started in early October last year. Palestinian resistance factions have welcomed the attack as a natural response to Israel's daily crimes and violations against the Palestinians.

Two buses catch on fire on Moshe Baram Road in the capital's East Talpiot neighborhood as a result of explosion; 2 seriously wounded, six in moderate condition, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
Twenty-one people were wounded when an explosive device blew up on a bus on Monday afternoon, causing it to catch on fire while it was driving on Moshe Baram Road in Jerusalem, in what the defense establishment suspects to be a terror bombing.
The number 12 Egged bus was travelling from the East Talpiot neighborhood (Armon HaNatziv) towards Mount Herzl when an explosion went off on it and it caught fire. As a result of the explosion, a nearby bus and a private vehicle also caught on fire.
Jerusalem District Commander Yoram HaLevy confirmed on Monday evening the explosion was caused by an explosive device placed in the rear part of the bus.
"We are still in the initial stages of the investigation. We're trying to find out primarily where the explosive device came from and who placed it on the bus," HaLevy said, adding that it should not take police much longer to indentify who planted the explosive on the bus.
He did, however, stress that "we can't at the moment come out with a clear statement that this was done by a terrorist or a suicide bomber. We're looking into all possibilities, as we do in every scene of an incident."
Magen David Adom paramedics treated 21 wounded, among them two in serious condition, six in moderate condition and the rest lightly wounded. Some of the wounded are suffering from different degrees of burns, while most are suffering from smoke inhalation. The wounded were taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and the Hadassah Medical Center's Ein Karem and Mount Scopus hospitals.
MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said that when paramedics arrived at the scene, all of the wounded were outside the bus and none were found inside by firefighters.
Hadassah's Ein Karem hospital received eight of the wounded, including a 28-year-old woman in serious condition, three wounded in moderate condition (a 25-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, and a 30-year-old woman), and four lightly wounded, all in their 40s.
Shaare Zedek received eight of the wounded as well, including a 30-year-old man in serious condition suffering from injuries to his lower body, three in moderate condition (a 50-year-old woman, a young man, and a 16-year-old teenager) and four lightly wounded (a 48-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy).
Prof. Avraham Rivkind, the head of the Shock Unit at the Hadassah Ein Karem hospital, said some of the injuries were in line with injuries from past terror bombings in Jerusalem. "There are penetration wounds. We saw in imaging and we pulled out a nail and nuts," he said.
The bus that exploded was reportedly empty, and the wounded people were in the second bus that caught on fire as a result of the explosion.

15 casualties in bus explosion in Occupied Jerusalem
At least 15 Israelis were injured Monday evening in a massive bus explosion in occupied Jerusalem, Israeli media sources reported.
Television pictures showed smoke billowing from a burned-out bus while on its way to al-Khalil south of the occupied West Bank.
Initial indications suggest it was an anti-occupation attack. Israeli police suggested that the explosion targeted two buses which were behind each other.
Tensions have been running high in the region since October 2015 after Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the Old City, where the al-Aqsa Mosque compound is located, while allowing free access for Jewish settlers.
Almost 200 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces since then.

Police arrest Arab hurlers of Molotov cocktails at homes in Ma'ale ha-Zeitim neighborhood; residents of Ma'ale ha-Zeitim complain that similar incidents happen almost daily, but thank police for their efforts to undermine assailants.
Arab residents of East Jerusalem threw Molotov cocktails Saturday at police and Border Policeman in the East Jerusalem neighborhood Ras al-Amud, adjacent to the Jewish neighborhood of Ma'ale ha-Zeitim. The forces arrested one of the assailants. Residents of the Ma'ale ha-Zeitim neighborhood say such incidents occur almost daily.
A member of the Ma'ale ha-Zeitim Security Committee, Joshua Wander, said that Arabs practically hurl Molotov cocktails at Jewish homes and police forces nightly. He added that he heard explosions last night: "I ran outside and I saw the fire and that they (the police) had arrested a number of young persons. It seems that the police had been waiting for them and we would like to thank the police for (its) work."
A video that has spread on Palestinian social networks shows Molotov cocktails being thrown in addition to one of throwers being injured by a Molotov cocktail thrown by another Arab. According to a resident of Ma'ale ha-Zeitim, the documentation of these incidents by Palestinians demonstrates that they are organized. He said. "Throwing Molotov cocktails lasts five seconds. They succeeded in capturing those moments on a camera, which means photographer is one of them."
Maor Tzemah from "Go, Jerusalem," an organization advocating for the full application of Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem, said, "Unfortunately throwing Molotov cocktails in Jerusalem has become a routine affair. I call on the minister of internal security to use his authority and order the end to this dangerous phenomenon."
