Ronen Lubarsky 20
A 20-year old Israeli soldier identified as Ronen Lubarsky was severely injured Thursday morning while invading a Palestinian refugee camp, when Palestinians dropped a stone slab on his head from the roof of a third-story building. On Saturday, Lubarsky died of his wounds.
The incident took place at the al-Am’ari refugee camp near Ramallah, in the central part of the West Bank.
After his death, Israeli authorities quickly mobilized to put together a patriotic funeral that same evening. Hundreds of people attended, including Lubarsky’s brother, who gave a eulogy in which he said, “Wild animals were waiting for you on the rooftops. I pray to God that our leaders, who I love, will do something about it.”
The funeral was a military service, which took place on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem on Saturday night.
Lubarsky was a member of the ‘Duvdevan unit’ of the Israeli army, known for its extrajudicial assassinations of Palestinian suspects.
The head of the unit praised Lubarsky during the service, saying that he had “participated in a great number of operations to capture terrorists”
After the stone slab fell on Lubarsky Thursday morning, he was rushed to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition until his death on Saturday.
The refugee camp that he was invading, along with other members of his unit, was put under a 24-hour curfew in the days following his injury, with no one allowed to leave or enter. But Israeli soldiers have until now been unable to identify or apprehend the suspects who, they claim, pushed the stone slab off the roof onto Lubarsky.

Adiel Coleman
A Palestinian man, 28-year-old Abed al-Rahman Bani Fadel, was fatally shot by Israeli police, in the Old City of Jerusalem, after he allegedly stabbed and killed an Israeli security guard.
The Israeli security guard, Adiel Coleman, from the illegal Israeli settlement Kochav Hashachar, was critically wounded Saturday afternoon when he was stabbed in the chest, and died later that evening in the hospital.
The alleged stabber was identified by Israeli sources as 28-year-old Abed al-Rahman Bani Fadel, from the West Bank village of Aqraba, who was shot and killed at the scene.
The incident took place on Haggay St., near the entrance to the Haram al-Sharif and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, holy sites for Muslims worldwide.
Initial reports from Israel’s Channel 10 television stated that Turkish identity papers were found on the body of the alleged assailant. But the Israeli military later changed that report, saying that Fadel , a Palestinian from the West Bank, was the attacker in the stabbing.
An Israeli police spokesman confirmed the attack, near the Western Wall, and said the assailant was “neutralized,” but gave no further details, as reported by the Post.
Israeli police blocked all gates leading to the Old City of Jerusalem, along with roads and streets adjacent to the historic walls of Jerusalem, and blocked Qalandia and Jaba’a checkpoints in the aftermath of the alleged attack, amid high tension and heavy deployment of troops near Jerusalem’s walls and inside the Old City of Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Saturday stormed once again Barta’a al-Sharqiya town, south of Jenin city, and ransacked dozens of Palestinian homes belonging to the family of Qabha, whose relative, Alaa, carried out on Friday a deadly car-ramming attack on soldiers near the West Bank illegal settlement of Mevo Dotan.
Alaa Qabha, an ex-detainee in Israeli jails, rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near the settlement, killing two soldiers and injuring two others.
Qabha was arrested by the IOF, which said he told his interrogators that it was an accident and that "the wheels of his car were locked."
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that dozens of soldiers and military vehicles stormed at dawn today Barta’a al-Sharqiya town, which is located behind the separation wall, and blocked all its entrances.
They added that the soldiers broke into and searched more than 30 homes belonging to the family of Qabha.
Earlier on Friday night, the IOF raided homes of Qabha’s parents, brothers and uncles, arrested his brother, Esam, and notified the family of a military order revoking over 100 work permits for them as part of mass punitive measures to be taken against them.

2 soldiers dead, 2 more hurt in West Bank ramming attack
A 26-year-old Palestinian plows his car into an IDF force, killing 2 and moderately-to-seriously wounding 2 more; terrorist lightly-to-moderately injured; Hamas praises attack, says it shows intifada rages on.
A Palestinian terrorist driving Tuesday afternoon on Route 585 between the settlements of Mevo Dotan and Hermesh rammed into a group of IDF soldiers stationed in the area, killing two soldiers and moderately-to-seriously wounding two more.
Magen David Adom medics that arrived to the scene gave the wounded first aid before anouncing two dead and evacuating the rest to Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva. The driver of the vehicle, 26, from the town of Barta'a—which straddles both sides of the Green Line in the Wadi Ara region—sustained light-to-moderate wounds and was treated at the scene. He was then evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.
A Rabin Medical Center spokesperson said one of the men wounded has been anesthetized and put on life support due to suffering blunt trauma to the head. The spokesperson added he is in serious condition, while the other person wounded is in moderate condition.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed the attack was meant to hurt and kill IDF soldiers, adding the terrorist is currently under interrogation.
The attack reportedly took place when the four left their military Humvee to man a nearby guard tower. They were then spotted by the terrorist, who sped up and ran them over.
Gaza's two main terror groups welcomed the attack and praised its perpetrator.
Its de facto governing authority, Hamas, noted it marked "100 days since Trump was recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," and that it made clear that "the Palestinian people are continuing the intifada … and that the protest against (Trump's—ed) decision and the (Israeli) occupation is not just a wave of (momentary) anger, but an ongoing matter until full liberation is achieved."
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad welcomed the escalation in attacks against soldiers and settlers, asserting they are part of the "natural right of the Palestinian people to defend itself in its land and holy places."
It is the second ramming attack against Israeli security forces in just two weeks.
Earlier this month, An Arab-Israeli ran over and lightly-to-moderately wounded two soldiers, a border policeman and a pedestrian in the city of Acre in what police confirmed was a terror attack.
Security forces were originally unsure as to the motives of the driver, with varying reports indicating that he had gone on the rampage with his vehicle after being issued an expensive parking fine. However, the security forces dispelled the rumors, stating that the attack and the parking ticket were entirely unrelated.
The driver, 51 from northern Israel, ran over a soldier near the city market, before proceeding toward the train station where he plowed his vehicle into more victims.

Responding to statement by U.S. Ambassador David Friedman, the official Palestinian Presidency spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rodeina, said Tuesday that the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine is the root cause of all violence in the region, and denounced the American stances that destroy all chances of real peace.
Abu Rodeina stated that Israel’s insistence on keeping its illegal occupation, violations and apartheid colonialist policies, are the root cause of all violence in the entire region.
He added that the only way to end the conflict and achieve peace in the region is to end the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, by implementing all related United Nations and Security Council resolutions that call for ending this and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
His statements came in response to the American Ambassador to Israel David M. Friedman, who accused the Palestinian leadership of praising attacks against Israel, including the latest stabbing Itamar illegal Israeli colony, in the occupied West Bank.
Abu Rodeina said that, instead of trying to create a positive atmosphere that could enable the resumption of real peace talks, Friedman is seeking further tension, and is attempting to bring more violence to the region.
“Such statements are unbecoming of an Ambassador; they are complete flawed and aim at creating more tension,” he said, “The Palestinian leadership supports nonviolent resistance against the Israeli occupation, and never condones violence of any type. Friedman’s statements only lead to more harm and violence to the region.”
The Palestinian official also stated that real and comprehensive peace requires the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied territories, the establishment of a viable, contagious Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, by implementing all related international resolutions.

Khaled Waleed Tayeh, 22
Israeli soldiers killed, on Tuesday at night, a young Palestinian man, and injured 110, including 32 who were shot with live ammunition, in Nablus city, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry has identified the Palestinian as Khaled Waleed Tayeh, 22, from Iraq-Tayeh village, east of Nablus.
Khaled succumbed to his wounds, after being shot with a live round in the chest; he died at the at al-Najah Hospital, in Nablus.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said the soldiers injured 110 Palestinians, including 32 who were shot with live ammunition, 26 with rubber-coated steel bullets, and 51 who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.
It added that the soldiers also rammed one Palestinian with their jeep, causing moderate wounds.
The head of the an-Najah National Hospital in Nablus, Salim al-Haj Yahia, said one of the wounded Palestinians, identified as Anwar Abu Aisha, was instantly rushed to surgery after an Israeli bullet severed the main artery in his thigh, and added that his condition is very serious.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds at random, in several directions.
The escalation started after dozens of soldiers invaded the Northern Mountain area, in Nablus, apparently looking for the Palestinian who killed an Israeli settler, identified as Itamar Ben Gal, 29, Monday.
Undercover forces surrounded two homes but were unable to locate and arrest the man they were reportedly looking for, and instead abducted seven Palestinians, not involved in the fatal stabbing.
The Israeli army said it was unable to arrest the “suspected stabber,” and added that the soldiers were “attacked by more than 500 young Palestinian men, who hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at them, while others exchanged fire with the soldiers.”
Media sources in Nablus said the soldiers abducted Hani Ashraf Khalfa, Nayef Tubasi, Tamer Qandeel, Eyad Abu Salha, Mos’ab al-Kawni, and another Palestinian from al-Bistami family, and one who remained unidentified at the time of this report.
