Scores of Israeli settlers on Monday morning broke into al-Aqsa Mosque via al-Maghareba Gate under heavy police protection.
Public relations official of the Jerusalem Islamic Awqaf Department Feras al-Dibs told the PIC that 244 settlers as well as two Israeli intelligence officers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning hours.
The PIC reporter said that a plane belonging to the Israeli police kept hovering at a low altitude over the Mosque during the raid.
Meanwhile, he added, thousands of Israeli settlers gathered in al-Buraq square in the western side of al-Aqsa Mosque and started to perform Talmudic rituals as part of their celebrations of Passover Holiday which started two days ago and will continue until the end of this week.
The number of settlers breaking into the Mosque is expected to increase later in the day because the Israeli police has allowed a second round of incursions after the Muslim noon prayer.
Over 200 Israeli settlers stormed the holy site during Sunday's incursions and performed Talmudic rituals at the Dome of the Rock.
The Israeli police had ordered a number of Aqsa guards not to enter the Mosque during settlers' incursions.

Hundreds of Jewish settlers on Sunday morning broke into, in groups, the plazas of al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli-controlled al-Maghareba gate under protection of Israeli police and Special Forces in coincidence with the Passover celebrations.
The PIC reporter pointed out that the incursion of large numbers of settlers who stormed the holy site in one hour only coincided with settlers flocking to al-Buraq Wall to celebrate the Jewish Passover amid tightened security measures.
The police are going to close Bab al-Asbat area, block traffic before Palestinians and prevent them from accessing Wadi Helweh and al-Magharebah gate south of al-Aqsa Mosque.
The closure is expected to be imposed from Sunday to Thursday evening, the eve of Passover, the PIC reporter said.
275 Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Courtyards
Dozens of settlers, guarded by intensive police forces, stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on Sunday morning.
Jerusalemite sources reported that 275 settlers stormed the mosque via The Moroccan Gate, carrying out provocative tours in its courtyards, and receiving Talmudic teaching.
It is noteworthy that the settlers daily storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to impose the temporal and spatial division of the mosque and to Judaize the Holy city of Jerusalem.
Colonial settlers regularly storm Al-Aqsa under police protection, in an attempt to divide the mosque temporally and spatially.
It is the third holiest site in Islam and also venerated as Judaism’s most holy place, alleged to be the original site of Solomon’s Temple.
Disputes surrounding visitation to the site have historically flared tensions in the occupied Palestinian territory.
In 2003, the Israeli government unilaterally decided — despite the objections of the Islamic Endowments Department — to allow non-Muslim visitors into the complex.
Since then, under increasingly right-wing Israeli governments, extremist Jewish settlers have been allowed into the site in ever greater numbers — usually protected by Israeli security forces — while Palestinian access to the site has become increasingly restricted.
The number of Israeli settlers storming the holy site has risen since US president Donald Trump’s declaration of occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Members of the so-called “Temple Mount” movement have been publicly calling its followers to participate in wide scale mass raids on the holy site.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said, Sunday, that Israel will not hold any investigation, or cooperate with international inquiries, into the excessive use force against unarmed protesters in Gaza, Friday, leading to the death of sixteen Palestinians, in addition to hundreds of injuries.
Lieberman did not only refuse any investigation into the deadly Israeli military assault, but also said that Israel will not cooperate with any inquiry, including potential international investigation.
The Israeli official who lived in an colony in the occupied West Bank, even threatened stronger and more violent military measures against the Palestinian protesters, “especially if any of them try to cross the border fence.”
The Israeli official also echoed previous baseless allegations claiming that “%90 of the protesters, and their families, were paid by Hamas.”
He also attacked statements by the head of Meretz party Tamar Zandberg, who called on the army to investigate the excessive use of force and described the soldiers as trigger happy.
Furthermore, Lieberman said that Meretz Israeli left-wing party “represents the Palestinians, instead of serving Israel’s interests.”
Lieberman went on to claim that at least ten of the slain Palestinians were “members of Hamas,” and added that the soldiers “performed what was necessary and deserve a medal.”
He also alleged that Hamas “allotted 15 Million US Dollars for the processions,” and that “%90 of the protests were Hamas members, and their families, who are paid salaries.”
His statements came to justify the excessive use of force against nonviolent protesters, largely refugees displaced and expelled from their homes and lands when Israel was established in the historic Palestine in 1948.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said the soldiers killed 16 Palestinians during the processions, and injured 1479 others, on Friday and Saturday.
It added that 805 of the wounded Palestinian were shot with live fire, 154 with rubber-coated steel bullets, 425 suffered the effects of teargas inhalation and 95 suffered burns, cuts and bruises.
In the morning to noon hours of Sunday, the soldiers injured more than 100 Palestinians, many of them with live fire, and the rest suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

Villagers from Turmus Ayya, a village to the northeast of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, were able to foil attempts by Israeli settlers to take over Palestinian-owned land near the village, on Friday, said the village mayor.
Rasmi Shehadeh said, according to WAFA, that a group of settlers from the illegal settlements of Adi-Ad and Shilo, nearby, and who were escorted by Israeli army, stormed into an area near the village and assaulted farmers who were working on their own land.
He said the farmers were able to compel the settlers to leave the land, before the soldiers attacked the farmers with teargas and rubber-coated rounds.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
According to the Israeli rights group B’Tselem, “As the occupying force, Israel must protect the Palestinians in the West Bank. However, the Israeli authorities neglect to fulfill this responsibility and do not do enough to prevent Israeli civilians from attacking Palestinians, their property and their lands.”

Convicted of racially motivated 'price tag' crimes against Palestinians after confessing as part of a plea deal, three Jewish youths get jail time for hate crimes, membership in terror cell; three other accomplices still on trial.
Three brothers, settlers and members of a six-person Jewish terror cell, were sentenced Thursday to prison terms ranging from 32 months to five years for their part in hate crimes committed against Palestinians in 2014 and 2015.
They were convicted of a series of "price tag" felonies, which took place in the Gush Talmonim area near Ramallah—including torching vehicles, throwing Molotov cocktails and gas grenades at homes and aggravated assault—as a form of revenge for attacks against Israeli citizens perpetrated by Palestinians during that time, such as the murder of Na’ama and Eitam Heinkin.
The trial of the three other members of the cell is still ongoing.
The suspects confessed to the crimes attributed to them and have even reenacted several of the incidents. They admitted that their objective was to sow fear and panic among the Palestinian residents of the West Bank and to send a message to the Israeli public and security forces.
One of the defendants, who was a 16-year-old minor at the time the crimes were committed, was convicted as part of a plea bargain of membership in a terrorist organization, arson, assault under aggravated circumstances motivated by racism, sabotage with aggravated intent and other offenses. The court sentenced him to five years in prison.
Another defendant, who was a soldier at the time of the offenses, was convicted of arson, vandalism with racist motives, assault under aggravated circumstances motivated by racism and other offenses. The court sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison.
A third defendant was convicted of offenses that resulted in malicious damage stemming from racist motives, stone-throwing at vehicles and other offenses, and the court sentenced him to 32 months in prison.
The defendants were also required to pay an agreed-upon compensation of NIS 50,000 to their victims.
The Central District Attoney's Office said the crimes were "motivated by racism and directed against Palestinians and their property, solely because of their religious or national affiliation," adding the case "exemplifies the determination of the law enforcement authorities to eliminate violent acts, especially when they constitute acts of terror and on a clearly nationalistic background."
The attorney who represents the three, Sonia Harizi Moses of the right-wing legal aid organization Honenu, claimed the conviction "did not take into account (the fact that) the defendants, who are all related, were minors at the time of most of the offenses (were carried out) and underwent a difficult time in their lives that I cannot divulge," and that no lives were harmed by their actions.
"The verdict is very strict and we intend to consider an appeal to the Supreme Court," she added.
Yesh Din, a left-wing legal NGO that represents some of the victims in the case, responded by asserting it is "a miracle" that lives were not harmed by the three's actions, which they referred to as "Jewish terrorism," noting the court's decision to convict them of membership in a terror organization.
