The head of the West Bank settlement’s council on Monday presented certificates of appreciation to the Israeli settlers who killed the 23-year-old Palestinian father Mohammed Abdel Fattah two weeks ago.
Yossi Dagan, head of the illegal Settlements Council, said that this honoring was a response to an investigation by human rights group B’Tselem, which was released on Sunday.
The investigation revealed that the Israeli army destroyed evidence related to the murder of Abdel Fattah who was executed by extremist settlers earlier this month in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Israeli murderers claimed that Abdel Fattah tried to stab an Israeli girl, which pushed her father to shoot him to defend his daughter.
The Israeli claims have been proved to be lies.
Witnesses told B’Tselem that Abdel Fattah was throwing stones at settlers’ cars breaking into the West Bank village of Huwwara when a settler pulled over after a stone hit his vehicle and fired two shots at Abdel Fattah while still in his car, then he got out and fired several more shots at the Palestinian young man.

New investigation by human rights group B’Tselem, which was released on Sunday, revealed that the Israeli army destroyed evidence related to the murder of a Palestinian 23-year-old father, who was executed by extremist settlers earlier this month in the northern occupied West Bank.
Three Israelis claimed that Mohammad Abdel Fattah tried to stab an Israeli girl, which pushed her father to shoot him to defend his daughter.
“A truck driving along the road also stopped, and the driver got out,” B’Tselem’s statement added.
“He came over to stand next to Sherman, and the two men fired several more shots at Abdel Fattah, who was lying wounded on the ground.”
A video trended at the time of the crime, showed Abdel Fattah lying on the ground while settlers harass him and Israeli soldiers preventing anyone from providing medical care.
Another Palestinian working in a nearby shop was also reportedly hit by a bullet to the abdomen, B’Tselem said.
“Minutes after the two settlers opened fire, Israeli military jeeps arrived on the scene and soldiers used stun grenades to disperse the crowd that had begun to gather,” the report revealed.
“Immediately after that, about eight soldiers went into two nearby shops to check their security cameras.”
According to witnesses, the soldiers filmed the security camera footage on their mobile phones, before erasing the video from the shops’ DVRs.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 37 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces – not including Israeli civilians – since the beginning of the year.
Three Israelis have been killed by Palestinians during the same time frame.
Palestinians regularly accuse Israeli forces of smearing slain Palestinians by falsely claiming they constituted a deadly threat when they were killed.

Jewish settlers on Sunday morning placed explosive devices outside a Palestinian school in al-Khalil in the West Bank as well as at an entrance to the Ibrahimi Mosque.
Local sources said that settlers booby-trapped the outer stairs of the Ibrahimiya School near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.
They added that Israeli soldiers evacuated the school after local residents found the explosive devices.
A cluster of explosive devices were also found at one of the entrances to the Ibrahimi Mosque.
A massacre would have happened if the explosive devices had not been found, a Palestinian official in the city said.

Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian youth in the Burin village, south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, as he attempted to prevent an Israeli settler attack, on late Friday.
Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that the Palestinian youth, Ubada al-Najjar, was shot and injured with Israeli live fire in the thigh as Israeli settlers attacked Burin village.
Daghlas confirmed that al-Najjar was transferred to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus City for medical treatment.
Al-Najjar’s medical condition was described as stable.
Daghlas pointed out that eyewitnesses from the Burin village said that allegedly an Israeli settler, not an Israeli soldier, shot al-Najjar.
The Palestinian government has no jurisdiction over Israelis in the West Bank, and acts carried out by Israeli settlers often occur in the presence of Israeli military forces who rarely act to protect Palestinian residents.
Since the occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in 1967, more than 600,000 Israelis have moved into Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory, in violation of international law.
The estimated 196 government recognized Israeli settlements scattered across the Palestinian territory are all considered illegal under international law.

A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Friday stole one sheep belonging to a Palestinian shepherd in the northern Jordan Valley.
The sheep belongs to Zuhdi Abu Muhsen, a resident of al-Farisiya area in the northern Jordan Valley.
Khairi Abu Muhsen, the shepherd’s son, said that a group of settlers chased one of his father’s sheep, bundled it into a car and drove away.
Jewish settlers living in illegal settlements in the northern Jordan valley brutalize Palestinian shepherds and farmers almost every day under military protection, and sometimes they kill or steal cattle.

Israeli agricultural minister Uri Ariel on Thursday morning led a group of Jewish settlers as they were touring the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards under tight police guard.
According to local media sources, right-winger Ariel desecrated the Mosque along with a group of settlers and provided them with information about the alleged temple mount. Other groups of settlers also entered the Mosque through al-Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards. The Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays. The Israeli police close al-Maghariba Gate, which is used by Jews to enter the Mosque, at 10:30 am after the settlers complete their morning tours at the holy site. Later in the afternoon, the same gate is reopened for evening tours by settlers. During the presence of settlers inside the Mosque compound, entry restrictions are imposed on Muslim worshipers at the entrances leading to the Mosque and their IDs are seized until they leave the holy place. together with a group of settlers, has stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, in the occupied Old City district of East Jerusalem, amid an escalation of violence by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinian people.
Firas al-Dibs, spokesperson of the Islamic Waqf (Endowment) organization, which manages the compound’s affairs, said the 66-year-old right-wing politician, along with a number of colonialist settlers, forced their way into the holy site through the Moroccan Gate, under tight protection from several groups of Israeli soldiers and special police forces.
Dibs pointed out that Israeli security forces escorted Ariel and the settlers as they toured the compound.
In July 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to allow Israeli lawmakers to visit the compound once every three months, and announced that ministers could also go to the site.
A restriction of access to the site had been imposed since October of 2015, in the wake of tensions in the occupied territories.
The number of Israeli lawmakers who have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound has increased, over the past few months, since Netanyahu’s announcement.
Most of the Knesset members are right-wing extremists, who support the demolition of the Islamic site in order to build a Jewish temple, instead.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound sits just above the Western Wall plaza and houses both the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinians have repeatedly warned of Israeli attempts to change the status quo of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam.
The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed new tensions ever since US President Donald Trump announced his decision, on December 6, 2017, to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy, in Israel, from Tel Aviv to the occupied city.
On December 21, 2017, the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution that calls on the US to withdraw its controversial recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israeli “capital,” PNN further reports.
In an attempt to prevent the passing of the resolution, Trump threatened reprisals against countries that backed the measure, which had earlier faced a US veto at the UN Security Council.
Israel, however, rejected the world body’s resolution while thanking Trump for his decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

Israeli settlers sprayed racist graffiti on several Palestinian homes and vehicles in the Ein Yabrud Yabrud village, east of the central occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, on Wednesday.
Local reported that Israeli settlers raided the village predawn and sprayed racist anti-Arab slogans on Palestinian homes and vehicles. Israeli settlers raid Palestinian towns and villages under armed security by Israeli forces. Known as "price tag" attacks, extremist Israeli settlers use violent acts of retribution on Palestinians and their property to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli restrictions on settlements and their outposts in the occupied West Bank. Many Palestinian activists and rights groups have accused Israel of fostering a “culture of impunity” for Israelis committing violent acts against Palestinians. |

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Tuesday morning desecrated the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards under tight police protection.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Authority in Occupied Jerusalem, groups of settlers entered the Mosque through al-Maghariba Gate and carried out swift and provocative tours in its courtyards.
The settlers also received explanations about the alleged temple mount from rabbis and tried to perform rituals.
Jewish temple groups recently incited their supporters to participate in mass break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday during the parliamentary election day to demand politicians to divide the Mosque and close its Bab al-Rahma prayer area forever.
