Hordes of Israeli extremist settlers, escorted by army troops, stormed at dawn Thursday Ourata town, in eastern Nablus, and performed sacrilegious rituals in Islamic holy shrines.
A PIC journalist quoted eyewitnesses as saying that dozens of extremist Israeli settlers crammed into buses and vehicles broke into the Azizat Islamic shrine on the outskirts of Ourata.
Several army jeeps provided the settlers with a security shield all the way through the assault and sealed off all access roads to the area.
A home to several Islamic holy shrines and historical places of worship, Ourata has often been the target of Israeli sacrilegious assaults.

Extremist rabbi Yehuda Glick has incited against the guards of the Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic Waqf Authority in Occupied Jerusalem and called on the Israeli government to take control of the Islamic holy site immediately.
This came in a lengthy speech he delivered in the Knesset, in which he called the Aqsa Mosque "the temple mount", and urged Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu to impose what he labelled as Israel's sovereignty over the holy site.
Glick, who was recently appointed by the right-wing Likud party as a Knesset member, waged vicious incitement against the Aqsa Mosque's guards in particular, describing them as "bullies and rioters", and called on the Israeli police to keep them away from him.
He also launched a scathing attack on the Islamic Waqf Authority in Jerusalem and called for revoking its jurisdiction over the Aqsa Mosque, warning that the [alleged] temple mount would remain under the "gentiles' occupation" if there was no immediate action to change it.
In a related development, the Israeli occupation police intend to file indictments against three Aqsa Mosque employees, namely, Hamza al-Nabali, Hamza Addisi, and Ra'ed Zaghir, for allegedly assaulting visitors at the holy site.
The Israeli police already issued banishment orders against eight employees working for the Awqaf authority and the Aqsa Mosque. Two of them are still in detention.
For its part, Jordan, which is responsible for the Aqsa Mosque, has intervened to stop any Israeli interference in the work of the Mosque guards.
Jordanian awqaf official Abdullah al-Abbadi said the government initiated diplomatic contacts with its Israeli counterpart to protect the legal rights of Aqsa Mosque employees and guards and to prevent any Israeli interference in their duties.

Israeli Special Forces Tuesday morning arrested the director of the renovation committee of the Aqsa Mosque, Bassam al-Hallaq, along with three of its employees and took them to a detention and investigation center in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.
This followed the Israeli order of halting renovation works of the Dome of the Rock which was refused by al-Hallaq who said it is of the business of Islamic Awqaf only.
Meanwhile, the guards of the Aqsa Mosque thwarted extremist settlers’ attempts to perform Talmudic rituals at the Aqsa Mosque.
In a similar context, Israeli police hindered repair works at the Aqsa Mosque in a step that was condemned by the Awqaf Department.

The Israeli occupation police on Thursday summoned the head of the media and public relations at the Awqaf Department and a guard at al-Aqsa Mosque for interrogation.
Member of the Awqaf (Endowment) department in Occupied Jerusalem, Firas al-Debs, and member of the supervision personnel at the al-Aqsa Mosque, Arafat Najeeb, were both summoned for questioning at the Israeli Qishleh detention center, in Jerusalem’s Old City.
On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the al-Aqsa guards Hamza al-Deisi and Hamza Nebali, along with the member of the reconstruction staff at al-Aqsa, Raed Zgheir, on allegations of their involvement in altercations with an Israeli extremist settler who tried to uproot olive branches and steal archaeological stones from the Mosque.
The three arrestees were dragged to the Qishleh investigation center. A hearing is expected to be held sometime on Thursday by the Israeli Magistrate’s Court, in western Occupied Jerusalem, to put on trial the newly-arrested guards al-Deisi, Nebali, and al-Zgheir, after the occupation authorities extended their remand on Wednesday.

Groups of Israeli settlers stormed Monday morning al-Aqsa Mosque via the Israeli controlled al-Magharibeh Gate under protection of Israeli police and Special Forces.
A number of settlers who have stormed the compound tried to perform Talmudic rituals during their tours in total provocation to Palestinian worshipers who started chanting “Allah the Greatest” in protest against the settlers’ desecration of the Islamic holy place.
On the other hand, Israeli police continued to prevent a number of Jerusalemite women from having access to al-Aqsa for allegedly being involved in protests against settlers’ presence in the holy shrine.
Tension remained high in and around al-Aqsa Mosque since early October 2015 after Israeli police repeatedly stormed the site and restricted Palestinians’ access into it, while allowing large numbers of settlers to access the holy site under tight protection.
For Muslims, al-Aqsa represents the world's third holiest site. Jews, for their part, refer to the area as the "Temple Mount," claiming it was the site of two Jewish temples in ancient times.
Israel occupied the city of Jerusalem during the 1967 war. It later annexed the city in 1980, claiming it as the capital of the “Jewish state” in a move never recognized by the international community.

Israeli settlers, on Sunday, broke into Kifl Haris town, to the north of the West Bank district of Salfit, and proceeded to desecrate Islamic shrines there.
Witnesses said, according to WAFA correspondence, that a large number of settlers broke into the town in the predawn hours, and proceeded to ‘intentionally provoke’ the town’s locals by performing religious rituals on the Islamic sites.
Israeli military soldiers reportedly provided the settlers with protection and secured their entrance and exit out of the town, causing a state of tension among the town’s locals.
Head of Kafl Hares municipality, Abdel-Rahim Bothyeh, said the religious sites there are constantly subjected to destruction and desecration by settlers; settlers have previously set fire to the sites.
According to POICA, “Religious sites of Kifl Haris town, north Salfit governorate are considered the living example of area’s long history. The town accommodates three religious shrines namely (Thu Al-Kifl, Thu Al-Noon, and shrine of Joshua). This is how the area acquired religious importance throughout the eras.”
The village of Kifl Haris witnessed, on May 05, 2016, an attack carried out by colonists, who broke into the area in buses and sabotaged the shrine of Thu Al-Kifl.
At time of the attack, colonists print sprayed hateful slogans calling to “kill all Arabs” and ” revenge”.
Kifl Haris is surrounded by the villages of Deir Istiya, Zeita, Jamma’in and Haris. With a total area of 9,254 dunams, of which 786 dunams is the village’s a, Kifl Haris is inhabited by 3,248 people.
Israeli occupation forces razed 278 dunams of Kifl Haris lands for the construction of the Ariel colony, where American restaurant chain McDonald’s recently refused to open a branch in the settlement, in a move that swiftly prompted calls from settler organisations for a boycott of its restaurants.

The Israeli army radio said that an Israeli reconnaissance unit on Friday prevented a Jewish man from being captured by al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas on the border with the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli claims that members of this unit, which is directly subordinate to the military intelligence and assigned to monitor all areas along the Gaza borderline, spotted an Israeli citizen approaching the security fence in a bid to cross into Gaza.
Upon his attempt to climb over the fence, soldiers aboard a military patrol vehicle were dispatched to the area immediately and arrested the man.
The man, who was identified as a Jewish young settler from Beersheba, justified his attempt to enter Gaza by saying he wanted to meet captive soldier Hadar Goldin.

A huge number of Jewish settlers desecrated after midnight Friday the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil city under military protection.
According to Maariv newspaper, thousands of settlers aboard 120 buses escorted by Israeli troops entered the Old City of al-Khalil and performed rituals overnight at the Ibrahimi Mosque.
The Islamic Waqf authority in al-Khalil had previously warned against Israeli moves aimed at fully controlling the Mosque.
In 1972, the Israeli occupation state allowed Jewish settlers to perform rituals in a designated part of the Mosque before it dared to divide it between Muslim and Jews in 1994 following the gruesome massacre of Muslim worshipers by a Jewish terrorist.
In addition, Israel prevents Muslims from performing prayers and reciting ِAdhan (call to prayers) at the Ibrahimi Mosque during the Jewish holidays.
