The coalition of the temple mount organizations on Sunday urged Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu to have the temple candelabrum (Menorah) lighted inside the Dome of the Rock Mosque.
Head of the coalition Aviad Visoly told a Hebrew radio station that placing the menorah in the temple hall would confirm the Jews' right to worship at the temple mount.
Visoly claimed that followers of other religions are allowed to pray at the Aqsa Mosque without restrictions, while the Jews have been deprived of this right since 2,000 years.
He added that erecting the menorah inside the temple would be the first step that would lead to radical changes in this regard.
In a related context, the coalition on Sunday evening held a conference to discuss the construction of the temple in place of the Dome of the Rock Mosque and the rituals of lighting the menorah in the temple during the Hanukkah holiday.

Israeli authorities, on Sunday, notified two families living in the Silwan neighborhood of annexed East Jerusalem of intentions to evict, under claims they are owned by non-governmental Jewish organizations.
WAFA correspondence said that Israeli police served a member of the Rajabi and Basbous families, from Jerusalem, a notification ordering them to leave their two homes, both of which are located in Silwan.
Local activists claim that about 80 real estates in Silwan are expected to be taken over by Jewish groups.
This is not the first time Israeli authorities have asked Palestinians from East Jerusalem to leave their homes under such a pretext.
On August 5 of 2015, Israeli police asked two East Jerusalem Palestinian families, Sabri and Abdullah Abu-Nab, to leave their homes under the pretext of absentee ownership.
Israel has instituted a series of mandatory laws, regulations and policies to legalize the confiscation of Palestinian lands and property, and prevent them from returning to their homes.
Palestinian land was deemed “absentee property”, based on the 1950 Absentee Property Law, while the control of the land was transferred to governmental and semi-governmental agencies, such as the Jewish National Fund and Israel’s Land Administration, for the sole benefit of Jewish Israelis.
Under this law, Palestinian refugees and the internally displaced are regarded as “present absentees” -- designations which authorized "legal" confiscation of their land -- the implication being that the majority of Palestinian lands were lost.
The law was first enacted and took effect in 1950, after the great population influx that Israel experienced in its early days as an officially recognized state, as thousands of Palestinian Arabs were forced to flee the city for fear of being killed. The law was approved by the Supreme Court of Israel on April 16, 2015.
Secretary General of the Islamic-Christian Committee to Support Occupied Jerusalem and Holy Sites, Hanna Essa, denounced the court’s decision, and said such property belongs to thousands of indigenous Arab and Palestinian residents who were forced out of their homeland, following the 1948 and 1967 wars.
Editor's note: According to UN statistics, Palestinians now make up the largest refugee population in the entire world.
Palestinian grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign declared that, “By classifying every citizen or persons present in an “enemy” territory or country as an “absentee” vis-à-vis property in Israel, the law has served to confiscate the land and real estate left behind by the Palestinians who were forcibly displaced in 1948.”
Most Palestinians in the occupied territories became de facto “absentees” with regard to property in East Jerusalem, which was unilaterally and illegally annexed by Israel in 1967.
Israel’s annexation and extension of the Absentees’ Property Law to occupied East Jerusalem is in direct contravention of international law, and has been strongly condemned by the United Nations.

Hardline Knesset member Bezalel Smotrich has described the Jewish settlers' deadly arson attack on the Palestinian Dawabsheh family in the West Bank village of Duma as "not an act of terror."
In a column published on Thursday by the B'Sheva newspaper, Smotrich, from the Jewish Home party, called for not drawing an analogy between the murder of Jews and Palestinians.
"The murder in Duma, with all its severity, is not an incident of terrorism. Period. Those who call it terror are perverting the truth, unjustifiably inflicting great harm to human and civil rights, making themselves like UN officials, whose job is to maintain order on both sides, and cheapening the concept of terror, and as a result, at the end of the day undermining the effectiveness of the efforts to combat it," he wrote.
The Knesset member also lashed out at the Shin Bet for conducting investigations into the Duma arson attack and interrogating Jewish suspects, accusing it of crossing all the red lines.

Member of Israeli Knesset, Dr. Ahmad Tibi, warned of the dire consequences that could emerge should U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump decide to invade, along with Israeli officials and soldiers, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem.
Dr. Tibi said that Trump, who will be flying to Tel Aviv later this month, is planning to head to the mosque after his arrival, and warned that such a provocative act only aims at creating further tension, and violence.
“The Muslims, the Jerusalemite Palestinians, will prevent him from entering the mosque,” he said, “Every decent human being, every believer in justice and equality should prevent this racist person from invading the mosque.”
As for statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his intentions to welcome Trump, Tibi said, “Netanyahu’s racist ideology matches that of Trump, and “it is not surprising that Netanyahu, and various racist Israeli politicians, including Knesset members, are eager to meet him.”
On his part, Netanyahu confirmed his intentions to meet Trump as scheduled on December 28, although many Israeli members of Knesset have urged him to rescind the invitation.
On its Twitter account, Netanyahu’s office said he “rejects Trump’s statements about Muslims,” but also said that Tel Aviv “is fighting terrorism that threatens the world, and targets Jews, Muslims and Christians alike.”

A picture propagated on social media networks by the alleged temple groups showed a menorah, instead of the crescent, installed on the al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock, in an obvious attempt to Judaize the mosque.
Israel’s deputy war minister Eli Ben-Dahan, escorted by police officers and members of Ateret Cohanim settlement group, also lit the Hanukkah candle in Rabat al-Kurd, adjacent to the al-Aqsa’s western wall, dubbing it a motif of Israeli sovereignty over Occupied Jerusalem.

Israel’s weapons law, which was amended in 2013, ruled for allowing security guards to hold arms only during working hours.
Recently the Israeli government alleviated restrictions on the armament of settlers as part of its intents to thwart anti-occupation activism in the occupied West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Center for the Study of Israeli-Palestinian affairs documented 282 attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against the Palestinians since the outbreak of the Jerusalem Intifada, in early October.

Hordes of fanatic Israelis flocked to the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil to mark the Hanukkah Festival of Light.
A series of Talmudic rituals and racist slogans calling for “death to Arabs” was performed across the alleys of al-Khalil’s Old City, in the southern West Bank.
Reporting from al-Khalil, a PIC news correspondent said the settlers prevented the Muslim worshipers from calling for Maghrib (sunset), Isha'a (evening), and Fajr (dawn) prayers and prevented other worshipers from reaching the Mosque.
The fanatic Israelis kept partying overnight and until dawn time, the PIC journalist said, adding that the celebration culminated in the arrival of the extremist rabbi Yehuda Glick who lit the candle of the Hanukkah.
The Israeli settler hordes further attacked Palestinian civilian homes before they suddenly backtracked from the area.

Dozens of Palestinians from Occupied Jerusalem as well as the 1948 Occupied Palestine on Monday visited the Aqsa Mosque to maintain vigil inside it and to defend the Muslims’ holy site in face of Israeli settlers’ incursions.
Israeli policemen barred dozens of women, whose names are listed in the blacklist, from entering the Aqsa Mosque and confiscated the IDs of those who entered the holy site.
The policemen rounded up the Jerusalemite Nizam Abu Rumouz at the Hetta gate, took him to the police station of al-Asbat gate and searched him before letting him go.
Special police forces secured the incursion of 22 Jewish settlers into the plazas of the Aqsa Mosque amid confrontation of Muslim sit-inners.
Some worshipers from 1948 Occupied Palestine revealed that Israeli policemen deliberately stop and question visitors, who come from outside of Jerusalem, about their home addresses and the transportation they use to get to Jerusalem.
