Extremist right wing Israeli Member of Knesset Bezalel Smotrich has called for illegal Jewish settlers to attack Palestinians, asserting that the lives of Jews are more valuable than those of Palestinians.
On his twitter account, Smotrich wrote: “I call on my heroic [settler] friends and pioneers to come out tonight and close Route 60 along its entire length to the movement of Arab vehicles.
“If there are [Palestinian resistance] attacks [against illegal Jewish settlers], there will be no Arabs on the roads. Our lives precede their quality of life.”
Consequently, Israeli human rights organisation Yesh Din demanded that an investigation be opened into the Jewish Home politician, as he tweeted a call for settler violence against Palestinians.
The organisation submitted this in an official request to Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, asking that he open a criminal probe into Smotrich’s call for violence against Palestinians.
According to Days of Palestine, illegal Jewish-Israeli settlers indeed responded to Smotrich’s tweet, gathering in the streets and attacking Palestinians.
Yesh Din says that, in the 24 hours after Smotrich’s tweet, it documented 25 attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinians.
The attacks included the firing of live bullets at Palestinian homes, in the nearby villages of Ein Yabrud and Beitin, and the stoning of cars at Huwara and Kfar Qaddum junctions, all near Ofra, on Route 60 of the occupied West Bank.

Israeli settlers assaulted Palestinian farmers, in the Masafer Yatta area of the southern West Bank district of Hebron, on Wednesday, and attempted to seize their lands.
Rateb al-Jbour, coordinator of the National and Popular Committee in southern Hebron said that Israeli settlers assaulted several Palestinian farmers in Masafer Yatta, according to Ma’an.
The farmers sustained multiple bruises across their bodies, while Israeli settlers also attempted to damage several dunams of Palestinian lands planted with winter crops.
Around 3,000 Israeli settlers live in illegal Jewish-only settlements in the Yatta region, according to the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem.
The South Hebron Hills, known locally as Masafer Yatta, lie almost entirely in Area C, the 62 percent of the West Bank under full Israeli civil and security control since the 1993 Oslo Accords.
Masafer Yatta residents were expelled at the time of the establishment of a firing zone, in the 1970s, and were eventually allowed back, following a long court battle, but are now under the constant threat of being expelled or seeing their homes demolished.

Israeli settlers razed on Thursday Palestinian lands in Bethlehem’s town of Battir, in the occupied West Bank, in an attempt to use them for settlement purposes.
Hasan Breijieh, from the local anti-settlement committee, said that settlers bulldozed Palestinian land in Battir as they paved the way for the establishment of a new settlement outpost.
The Palestinian locals have stood on guard to the settlers who broke into their land and prevented the bulldozers from inflicting further damage on their cultivated tracts.

Dozens return to evacuated West Bank outpost of Amona to erect two units in what they said was a response to recent deadly violence.
Dozens of settlers have returned to rebuild the site of an unauthorized West Bank outpost evacuated by the state, in what they said was a response to recent deadly Palestinian attacks on Israelis. Three people — two soldiers and a newborn — have been killed in the past two weeks in attacks in the West Bank. The renewed violence comes just two months after two Israelis were murdered by their Palestinian co-worker at a factory in the West Bank.
The settlers returned for ceremonial event at the Amona outpost in the Mateh Binyamin region, which was evacuated less than two years ago. During the event, they placed two units on plots of land they said former Amona residents purchased from Palestinians, with the assistance of private investors and donors. Amona was evacuated in February 2017, following a court ruling that it was built on private Palestinian land.
The event was attended by members of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council, Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, MK Bezalel Smotrich of the right-wing Bayit Yehudi party, and Avihai Boaron, a representative of the residents of the outpost.
Haaretz daily newspaper quoted defense sources as saying that the settlers had not coordinated the event with the Israel Defense Forces army or the Civil Administration. Furthermore, Haaretz said, the area is classed as a closed military zone.
"After two years of this place being uninhabited, we are fortunate to resume Israeli life here," said Yisrael Gantz, head of Binyamin Regional Council. "The plots upon which we erected the structures were legally purchased. Yesterday, I promised to establish a new settlement in Binyamin in response to the deadly attacks and today we are carrying it out."
'We will fight to the end'
Avihai Boaron, who led the Amona residents in recent years, said: "The night we were expelled from our homes we swore to do everything to bring back Jewish life here, to raise the Israeli flag high up so that all our enemies will know — we will be victorious! This land is our home and we will fight for our home to the end."
"In these dark days, when terrorist attacks are so numerous and the honor of the people of Israel is harmed, we must get fired up and today's ascent to Amona is an appropriate Zionist response," said Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council.
After the evacuation of the outpost, the security cabinet approved a new settlement for Amona residents, the first time Israel has created a new settlement in over 20 years. The settlement, named Amichai, received its first residents in March.
The left-wing anti-settlement movement Peace Now condemned the return to Amona, accusing the settlers of disregarding the law of the land.
"There is no limit to the cynicism of the hilltop criminals who exploit the events of recent days to trample the law and ignite disturbances, all with public funds," the organization said. "These pyromaniacs are backed by Knesset members and local politicians… It is difficult to understand how an order has not yet been issued to evacuate them, and we ask whether the IDF and the police would have allowed this if they were Palestinians. This disgrace should be addressed today."
Peace Now said it would file a complaint with the police against the settlers, and make an appeal to the attorney general.

Israeli settlers on Tuesday evening destroyed and uprooted dozens of Palestinian-owned trees in Tarqumiyah town, west of al-Khalil city.
Hashem al-Badarin, a Palestinian official in charge of documenting agricultural damages, said that Israelis from Adora settlement uprooted over 100 trees planted in Tarqumiyah lands.
Such attacks, which are witnessed on a regular basis in the area, are aimed at seizing more Palestinian lands in favor of settlement expansion projects.
In a related context, a group of Israeli settlers on Wednesday morning bulldozed Palestinian lands in Asira al-Qibliya village, south of Nablus.
Anti-settlement activist Ghassan Daghlas told Wafa that Israeli settlers' bulldozers leveled vast tracts of Palestinian lands in the village to pave the way for the expansion of Yitzhar settlement.

Dozens of extremist illegal Israeli colonialist settlers invaded, Wednesday, Palestinian farmlands in ‘Asira al-Qibliya town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and uprooted them.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the colonists brought a bulldozer and other equipment to uproot the Palestinian lands.
He added that the invasion targeted Basin #1, also known as the al-Kharroub area of ‘Asira al-Qibliya.
The latest violation and assault is part of numerous attacks against the Palestinians and their lands in that area, especially since the settlers aim at expanding their illegal colony of Yitzhar, which was built on private Palestinian lands.

Israeli settlers on Tuesday morning vandalized Palestinian vehicles and spray-painted racist slogans in Yasuf village east of Salfit.
Head of Yasuf's village council, Nashaat Abdulfattah, told the PIC reporter that a group of Israeli settlers stormed the village, attacked Palestinian property, and spray-painted racist slogans on the walls of the village's houses and mosque. Hundreds of illegal Israeli colonialist settlers invaded, on Monday evening, the vicinity of the historic Christian Mar Saba (St. Saba) Monastery, near the al-‘Obeydiyya town, east of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
Locals said the heavily armed illegal colonists invaded the area in many cars and buses, while Israeli soldiers, who also went there, stood and watched without intervening.
This is the first invasion targeting the area of this historic monastery, and was not carried at random, as hundreds of Palestinian Christians constantly go on pilgrimage to this monastery, especially since this Monday marks St. Saba’s birthday anniversary.
Many Palestinian Christians who were staying at the monastery to mark this anniversary said that this invasion is very serious, and caused panic among many, especially since this historic Christian holy site is located in an extremely isolated area.

The sources said Mohammad Mahmoud Ghazal, 19, suffered lacerations and bruises to various parts of his body, and was moved to a clinic in Teqoua’ town, before he was transferred to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, in Bethlehem.
The Palestinian was injured near al-Minya village junction, close to the illegal Maali Amos colony, which was built on Palestinian lands.
All colonies in the occupied West Bank, including in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention to which Israel is a signatory and a constant violator.

As the city of Nazareth, in the northern part of the country, prepares for the celebration of Christmas, extremist Israelis on Monday,spray-painted hateful, racist anti-Arab slogans in the Arab majority city.
They wrote in Hebrew, “Death to Arabs“, and “The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel“, witnesses told WAFA News Agency.
These acts are reminiscent of attacks known as ‘price tag attacks’ where extremist Israelis and illegal colonialist Israeli settlers vandalize or otherwise damage the property of Palestinians in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The vandalism and racism targeting Palestinians is a regular occurrence in the city of Nazareth, Kafr Qassem, and other Palestinian towns located in the land now known as Israel.
Residents of Nazareth call for the incitement by Israeli politicians against Christian, Muslims and other Arabs to stop, and blamed the Israeli police for not protecting the Palestinian population inside Israel.
Nazareth’s Palestinian population as of 2017 was 76,551, according to Wikipedia. Of this population, 69% are Muslim, and 31% are Christian — both are discriminated against in Israel and in occupied Palestine by Israeli policies and laws, as well as by racist acts carried out by right-wing Israeli extremists.
No Israelis were apprehended for the hate graffiti, and no Israeli police investigation has been launched, despite the requests by Palestinians in Nazareth that the Israeli police investigate the incident.
