Scores of Jewish settlers on Thursday morning desecrated the Aqsa Mosque under tight police protection.
Students of religious institutes were among the settlers who toured the Mosque’s courtyards in groups escorted by police forces.
About 34,706 settlers defiled the Aqsa Mosque in 2019, according to the Islamic Awqaf Authority.
The Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers and police forces in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Israeli police close al-Maghariba Gate, which is used by Jews to enter the Mosque, at 10:30 am after the settlers complete their morning tours at the holy site. Later in the afternoon, the same gate is reopened for evening tours by settlers.
During the presence of settlers inside the Mosque compound, entry restrictions are imposed on Muslim worshipers at the entrances leading to the Mosque and their IDs are seized until they leave the holy place.

Israeli settlers today flooded farmlands of the village of Jalboun, located to the east of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, with wastewater.
Mayor of Jalboun Nidal Abu al Rub told WAFA that settlers from neighboring illegal colonial settlements have been discharging their untreated sewage for several days through Israel’s segregation wall.
He added that the toxic stream of sewage that runs steadily have a devastating effect on the health and livelihood of Palestinians in the area, and urged human rights organizations to immediately intervene to bring this Israeli violation to an end.
The sewage submerging farmlands, and the rancid smell engulfing the area and mosquitoes swarming it often force farmers to desert their farmlands, which are subsequently seized for the expansion of Israeli colonial settlements.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Settlers' violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.

Israeli settlers today erected several electric poles on Palestinian land in Khallet Hamad in the Jordan Valley.
Aref Daraghmeh, a local human rights activist, said that settlers erected the electric poles to supply power to a settler-colonial outpost that was established in Khallet Hamad in 2016.
Israeli forces frequently order Palestinian families in the Jordan Valley out of their homes to make room for military drills and prevent them from grazing their livestock.
The valley, which is a fertile strip of land running west along the Jordan River, is home to about 65,000 Palestinians and makes up approximately 30% of the West Bank.
Since 1967, when the Israeli army occupied the West Bank, Israel has transferred at least 11,000 of its Jewish citizens to the Jordan Valley. Some of the settlements in which they live were built almost entirely on private Palestinian land.
The Israel military has also designated about 46 percent of the Jordan Valley as a closed military zone since the beginning of the occupation in June 1967, and has been utilizing the pretext of military drills to forcefully displace Palestinian families living there as part of a policy of ethnic cleansing and stifling Palestinian development in the area.
Approximately 6,200 Palestinians live in 38 communities in places earmarked for military use and have had to obtain permission from the Israeli authorities to enter and live in their communities.
In violation of international law, the Israeli military not only temporarily displaces the communities on a regular basis, but also confiscates their farmlands, demolishes their homes and infrastructure from time to time.
Besides undergoing temporary displacement, the Palestinian families living there face a myriad restrictions on access to resources and services.
Meanwhile, Israel exploits the resources of the area and generates profit by allocating generous tracts of land and water resources for the benefit of settlers.
Israeli politicians have made it clear on several occasions that the highly strategic Jordan Valley would remain under their control in any eventuality.

Dozens of Jewish settlers forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday morning under heavy police guard, while restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers were tightened.
Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department said that 148 Israeli settlers, including 7 intelligence officers, broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning.
The settlers performed Talmudic rituals and roamed the site while receiving presentations on the alleged "Temple Mount".
Meanwhile, the Israeli police forces stationed at al-Aqsa gates tightened restrictions on the Palestinian worshipers entering the mosque and scrutinized their IDs.
Except for Fridays and Saturdays, the Israeli police allow mass break-ins by Israeli settlers into al-Aqsa Mosque every day, which serves an Israeli scheme to Judaize the site.

A Jewish settler driving at high speed ran over a Palestinian student girl on Tuesday morning and injured her on a road in the east of Bethlehem city, south of the occupied West Bank.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Yasmeen Ghazal, from Kisan village in eastern Bethlehem.
The hit-and-run incident happened at the main entrance to Kisan village as she was walking to her school in Teqoa town.
She has suffered multiple bruises and injuries and was rushed to al-Yamama Hospital.
According to human rights groups, incidents of terrorism and violence by extremist Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their property are a daily occurrence throughout the West Bank.
However, Israeli law enforcement authorities exhibit extreme incompetence in addressing such widespread occurrence of settlers’ crimes.
The vast majority of investigation files regarding harm to Palestinians and their property are closed due to deliberate police failure to investigate properly.
The deficiencies and flaws in the work of the Israeli police are clearly noticed at every stage of an investigation when the victim is a Palestinian citizen.

The Israeli occupation army, on Sunday, admitted that the killing of Palestinian mother of 8, Aisha al-Rabi, by an Israeli settler in the occupied West Bank, last October, was a terror attack on nationalist grounds.
Last year, Israeli prosecutors issued an indictment against the Israeli settler suspected of killing of Rabi by hurling a massive rock at the windshield of her car as she was travelling with her husband and daughter, in the occupied West Bank.
Al Ray further notes that illegal Israeli settlers increasingly escalate their attacks against Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.

Israeli settlers today attacked with stones Palestinian residents’ homes in the village of Madama to the south of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, according to a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of the anti-settlement file in the northern West Bank, said residents managed to fend off the attack. No injuries were reported.
According to B’Tselem, the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, “Settler violence has long since become part of Palestinians’ daily life under occupation.
Israeli security forces enable these actions, which result in Palestinians casualties – injuries and fatalities – as well as damage to land and property.”
“In some cases, they even serve as an armed escort, or even join in the attacks. Investigations, if even opened, are usually closed with no action taken against perpetrators as part of an undeclared policy of leniency.
The long-term effect of this violence is the dispossession of Palestinians from increasing parts of the West Bank, making it easier for Israel to take over land and resources,” said B’Tselem.
