Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum visits Israel and rails against settlers and ultra-Orthodox recruits who join the ID.
As terror attacks continue to strike Israel, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum said on Tuesday that "the real culprits are the settlers in Israel who agitate the nations of the world in the country and throughout the world, which causes serious hatred of Israel and the severe wave of attacks."
Rabbi Teitelbaum, also known as the Satmar Rebbe, and his brother lead the world's largest Hasidic movement, landed in Israel on Tuesday and spoke sharply to his followers, at his grandson's bar mitzvah in Jerusalem. The city had which suffered a serious attack shortly before that, alongside two other attacks that night. "In recent months, the blood of Israel is spilling like water," he said. "We cry every day for those dead and wounded. "
The rabbi also addressed the growing numbers of ultra-Orthodox recruits in the IDF. "It is true that there is no coercion," he said, "but via soft words there is an increase in recruits to the IDF, which is a source of evil , and especially when the young men are not as strong spirituality. What is new is that no one here screams out loud that there is a prohibition to enlist in the IDF, which is is a place of destruction."
The anti-Zionist rabbi attacked in his speech all the ultra-Orthodox political parties that participate in state institutions, are partners in the government, and enjoy its budgets. "You are always hearing about what's happening here in Israel, and especially the conscription law, there are agreements with the government," he said. "We will stand firm so that the yeshivas will not be destroyed. "
"The agreements – there are some who say they are good, some say they are bad, and they need a lawyer to teach them, but the reality is that since that law there has been a rise in ultra-Orthodox recruits. One should know that the main sin in enlistment is those who go there will not return (i.e. will become alienated from religion - KN)."

Jewish settlers on Thursday evening set fire to a Palestinian house in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem city, and caused considerable material damage to it.
According to anti-settlement activist Hasan Barejiya, a horde of settlers from Daniel settlement torched the house of Muhannad Salah while he and his family were outside.
Upon their return to the house, he and his family members tried to put out the fire, but it had already caused extensive damage to the furniture and interior walls.
The same house had been attacked in the morning of the same day with stones and its exterior walls were daubed with anti-Arab graffiti and threats, Barejiya noted. Settlers have repeatedly attacked the family's house in an attempt to force it to leave its property.
On July 31, 2015, 18-month-old Palestinian baby boy Ali Dawabsheh died in a large fire that broke out after extremist Jewish settlers threw firebombs into two Palestinian houses in the town of Duma, located southeast of Nablus city. The toddler's parents died from severe burn injuries within weeks, while his four-year-old brother was critically injured.

Hordes of Israeli extremist settlers, escorted by army forces, stormed at dawn Friday Palestinian lands in the evacuated Tersala settlement, in Jenin, and climbed over the rooftop of a local mosque.
A PIC journalist quoted local sources as stating that Israeli fanatics stormed the so-called Tersala settlement, built at the expense of Palestinians’ own lands in Jenin and evacuated since 2005.
The extremist settlers yelled racist chants before they flocked to the Jenin-Nablus street and stationed near the main entrance to Tersala settlement.
Israeli occupation troops were reportedly deployed across the area to protect the settlers all the way through the break-in.

A number of extremist Israeli settlers infiltrated, on Thursday at dawn, into the al-Khader town, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and wrote “Death To Arabs” graffiti on the walls of a Palestinian home, and nearby walls. Soldiers also invaded a school near Bethlehem.
Hassan Brejiyya, the coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in al-Khader, said the illegal settlers wrote the graffiti on the exterior walls of a home belonging to resident Mohannad Sa’ad Salah.
The assailants also hurled stones on the home, while Mohammad Salah, his wife and their daughters, were in their residence.
He added that the graffiti included “Death To Arabs,” and “Leave,” among other threatening statements.
Brejiyya also stated that the settlers cut through the barbed-wire fence, separating al-Khader from Daniel illegal colony, built on Palestinian lands, and wrote the graffiti.
The home has been subject to frequent attacks, over the past seventeen years, especially since the settlers are trying to push the family into leaving their property, so that they can expand their illegal colony.
In addition, at least four Israeli military vehicles, surrounded on Thursday morning a school for boys, in Teqoua’ town, east of Bethlehem, and invaded it.
The soldiers claimed they were looking for Palestinian who allegedly hurled stones on their vehicles; the soldiers left the school later without conducting any arrests.

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Thursday morning desecrated the Aqsa Mosque's courtyards under tight police guard.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that groups of 138 Jewish settlers, including 74 university students and one employee from the Israeli antiquities authority, entered the Mosque through al-Maghariba Gate.
Meanwhile, several Palestinian worshipers in the Mosque's courtyards chanted religious slogans in protest at the presence of the settlers.
In a related context, extremist Jewish groups incited their supporters to march en masse to the Aqsa Mosque during the coming days to mark the season of Jewish festivals.

A horde of Israeli extremist settlers on Wednesday evening hurled stones at a Palestinian civilian home in Bethlehem's southern town of Khader.
40-year-old Palestinian farmer Muhannad Saad Salah said Israeli settlers crept into the village via a hole they made in the barbed wire and threw stones at his family home.
“My family and I have been subjected to settler attacks for 17 years but the Israeli occupation army has always turned blind eyes and deaf ears,” the house owner said.
“Such attacks make part of an Israeli scheme to mar our lives and force us out of the area in favor of illegal settlement expansion,” he added.

Fatah spokesman Ra'fat Aliyan has warned that there will be serious consequences for holding Jewish settlers' weddings at the Aqsa Mosque.
This came after rabbi Bentzi Gophstein, head of the terrorist group Lehava, announced that his son, Elyashiv, had tied the knot last Thursday at the Aqsa Mosque, claiming the action was aimed at emphasizing the religious right of the Jews to rebuild their temple.
Describing Gophstein's step as a serious violation against the Aqsa Mosque, Aliyan stressed that such provocative acts against the Islamic holy site would not go unnoticed and would evoke more angry reactions from the Palestinians.
He called on Jordan and all Arab and Islamic countries to urgently move to stop such violation from happening again and protect the Aqsa Mosque. He also urged the Palestinian factions to escalate their resistance operations against the Israeli occupation in response to the persistent Israeli violations against the Mosque.

Guests and groom Yakir Ashbal are expected to be indicted for incitement and illegal possession of arms after being documented 'celebrating' the Duma murders.
At least 10 people who participated in the "wedding of hate," including the groom, are expected to face charges in the case, Ynet learned on Monday evening. Videos filmed at the Jerusalem wedding of Yakir and Ronny Ashbal in December show guests dancing while brandishing firearms and Molotov cocktails, and mocking the murder of Palestinian baby Ali Dawabshe - who was burned to death along with his parents in an arson attack at his home in Duma - by stabbing a photo of his with a knife and trying to set it on fire. |
Police's Judea and Samaria District's Nationalistic Crimes Unit conducted the investigation into the wedding. The investigative material has already been transferred to the State Attorney and returned to police for final additions.
Among those who are expected to be indicted are also minors, who are facing charges of indictement and illegal possession of arms.
The groom, Yakir Ashbal, was interrogated shortly after images and videos from the wedding were released to the press. He was arrested and released several days later. Other youth and radical right wing activists were also arrested. All of them were released after a few days.
In addition, some of the wedding guests were hilltop youth who were breaking a court order barring them from meeting with other hilltop youth who were present.
Footage from the wedding led to outrage on both the left and right wing. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "The shocking pictures that were broadcast this evening show the true face of a group that constitutes a danger to Israeli society and to the security of Israel. We are not prepared to accept people who deny the laws of the state and do not view themselves as subject to them. The pictures underscore how important a strong Shin Bet is to the security of us all."
Opposition leader Isaac Herzog called the wedding guests: "Crazy, wretched people. You forgot what it means to be Jewish. You are disgracing the kippah, the talit and God. Those who dance at a wedding and celebrate the murder of a baby in his sleep are not Jews nor are they Israelis. They need to be locked behind bars, as soon as possible."
Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir, who represents some of the suspects and was at the wedding himself, said in response to the intention to press charges: "It turns out that the State Attorney has a lot of free time, and the waving of a photo gets precedence over cases of murder, rape and drugs. So be it, but I'd suggest the State Attorney started by filing indictment against guests at weddings in Umm al-Fahm and Arara, where in many of the weddings there are shootings and cursing the State of Israel and incitement to murder Jews."

Tommy Hasson
Arrests were made when Druze student Tommy Hasson was beaten by about 10 Jewish assailants in Jerusalem, after they heard him speaking Arabic. A year has passed since, and no one has been indicted.
Tommy Hasson, a 22-year-old Druze student who was beaten by a group of Jewish youths over a year ago for the sole reason of speaking Arabic, has not been recognized as a victim of hostilities, and his attackers have not been indicted.
Adding insult to his injuries is a letter he received from Magen David Adom (MDA), ordering him to pay NIS 493 for the ambulance ride he received, or his bank account will be seized.
Hasson was attacked by ten kippah-wearing Jewish youths near the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. He claims they attacked him after they heard him speaking Arabic. Hasson was hospitalized after the attack at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem's Ein Karem, suffering bruises to the face and neck. The police arrested several suspects, while the Magistrate's Court determined that "this nationalistically-motivated offense is seven times as dangerous, particularly in recent months."
Hasson, who grew up in the Druze town of Daliyat al-Karmel, is studying at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He spent part of his IDF service as a combatant, and part working at the President's Residence. President Reuven Rivlin, who knew Hasson, phoned his father after the attack, expressing his support. The president later published a post about the matter on his official Facebook page.
However, over a year later, and none of the suspects have been indicted. The Jerusalem Attorney’s Office had trouble even locating the case file, even though Ynet made several inquiries about the matter.
In addition, MDA is demanding that Hasson pay for his ambulance ride, since he was not recognized as a hostilities victim by the National Insurance Institute (NII). Hasson said he was not aware that he had to send a request to the NII in order to receive such recognition. When asked, NII officials said they did not recognize Hasson’s status since law enforcement authorities did not report the incident to them. Only after Ynet contacted it did the NII contact Hasson and begin the process to recognize his status.
“Too many months have passed for such a simple request. Where’s the equality? Where are my rights? I pay my dues to the state, (I am) an honest citizen. I served the state for three years in the IDF. On the day of the attack, civilians saw me being attacked and didn’t protect me or offer me help. It’s disappointing that my case isn’t being treated equally,” said Hasson.
The NII responded by saying, “This case, which occurred about a year ago, was not reported to the National Insurance Institute by security bodies or hospitals immediately after the incident, and thus we had no information regarding it. When speaking of a definitive hostilities event, all authorities involved report in real time, and NII workers immediately visit the victims and their families, taking care to grant them all of their rights.
“It should be mentioned that the decision to define an incident as a hostilities incident, and the recognition of victims as hostilities victims, is entirely up to the Defense Ministry, and only those approved as hostilities victims will be entitled to payments and NII benefits. Up to now, Mr. Hasson did not contact the NII or ask to be recognized as a hostilities victim. Upon receiving your inquiry, we contacted Mr. Hasson and instructed him on how to file a request.”
MDA responded by saying, “The services of Magen David Adom involve payments, and if a person is entitled to deductions they must contact the insurer themselves. In this case, we are dealing with a person who claims he was harmed in a nationalistically-motivated attack. The decision whether to recognize the patient as a hostilities victim is the NII’s, and so he should coordinate the debt relief with the NII. The MDA went beyond the letter of the law and, in an extraordinary step, froze Mr. Hasson’s debt proceedings for a whole year, so that he would be able to exercise his full rights with regards to the NII. Unfortunately, during that entire time, Mr. Hasson did not give MDA any documentation showing he was a hostilities victim even though he was asked by us to do so, and so MDA is now resuming collection actions.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Information slammed an Israeli ban on the Muslim call to prayers via mosque loudspeakers, dubbing the move “an act of terrorism that crosses all red lines.”
A statement by the Information Ministry spoke out against Israeli claims that Muslims’ call to prayer is a loud nuisance that echoes into Israeli settlements, describing the ban as a barefaced violation of the sanctity of Islamic places of worship and an infringement on religious freedom.
The statement referred to Israeli aggressions, cold-blooded executions, house demolitions, confiscations, and misappropriation of Palestinians’ natural resources as the most striking proofs of Israeli terrorism.
The statement called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the International Council of Christian Churches to exert pressure on Israel to cancel the racist ban on Muslims’ call to prayer and to cease its preplanned terrorism against the Muslim worshipers.
The Israeli Legislative Affairs Committee was expected to vote on a bill banning Muslims’ call to prayer in 1948 Occupied Palestine. After the bill failed to garner support of coalition partners, Habayit Hayehudi MK Moti Yogev took the bill off the committee's agenda until further changes are put in.
Israeli daily Haaretz reported that right-wing Israeli lawmaker Moti Yogev plans to resubmit the proposed law in a new form.
According to the newspaper, Yogev plans to submit a revised version of the bill that would call for banning the use of loudspeakers by mosques during non-working hours — including on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath — and setting limits on the volume of the Muslim call to prayer. On Sunday, the Israel Democracy Institute warned in a letter to ministers that the bill threatened to “harm freedom of religion”.
“If the bill is advanced,” the think-tank added, “it will encourage rifts in the Israeli community and harm the Muslim public.”

The Israeli ministerial committee for legislation intends on Sunday to vote on a bill calling for silencing muezzins' call to prayers at Palestinian Mosques at the pretext of preventing noise pollution.
The bill is aimed at banning all mosque imams and muezzins in Jerusalem and Israeli areas from calling to prayers through loudspeakers.
The draft law was tabled by right-wing MK Mordhay Yogev from the Jewish Home and other members of his party as well as some Likud members.

Israeli settlers on Saturday opened a 1.5-kilometer-road on Palestinian land in Kisan village to the east of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.
The PIC reporter said that opening of the road, which was conducted under the protection of Israeli forces, aims at confiscating more Palestinian lands in order to connect two Jewish settlements.
Hussein Ghazal, head of Kisan’s village council, told the PIC reporter that the Jewish settler called Yusuf who opened the road had previously confiscated about 1000 dunums in 2014 under gun threat and the protection of Israeli soldiers. He built three houses and a farm over that confiscated area, Ghazal added.

Army To Demolish Residential And Commercial Buildings In Silwan
Israeli soldiers have kidnapped, on Friday evening, two Palestinian men in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, after a number of Israeli extremists assaulted them. Army also kidnaped a Palestinian man in Silwan; clashes took place in Silwan, and Abu Dis; one child injured.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan (Silwanic) has reported that the soldiers kidnapped Daoud Salaima and Ahmad al-Beitouni, after a number of extremist Israeli settlers attacked them, an issue that led to a scuffle.
The soldiers did not arrest or detain the Israelis who assaulted the two Palestinians, but instead kidnaped the Palestinians and took them to an interrogation center in the city. The incident took place in Aqbat al-Khaldiyya in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Clashes also took place in Ein al-Louza neighborhood in Silwan, after several Israeli military vehicles invaded it.
The soldiers invaded at least one home, and kidnapped a man, identified as Ali Abu al-Hamam, 47.
Silwanic said the soldiers attacked women in the invaded home, broke many windows and sprayed several Palestinians with pepper-spray after they rushed to aid the family.
In addition, the army forced many merchants to close their stores without providing any justification, and fired dozens of rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, during clashes that took place following in the invasion.
Also in Silwan, the army handed four demolition notices targeting commercial and residential buildings in Silwan. The orders target a store and two homes in Ein al-Louza, in addition to one home in the al-Bustan neighborhood.

The wounded child was moved to a local hospital while medics provided treatment to scores of residents who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Israeli bulldozers uprooted at dawn Saturday dozens of olive trees in Beir Ballout town west of Salfit.
Eyewitnesses said that a group of settlers stormed the area with bulldozers and uprooted dozens of olive trees as a prelude to confiscating the agricultural lands for expanding Leshem settlement.
Leshem settlement was inaugurated in Aug. 2013 and considered one of the first major new settlements in the last twenty years. Three major archaeological sites in the area were damaged by its construction.
The construction of settlements and the transfer of the occupying power's population into occupied lands are strictly forbidden under international law, and critics have liked the situation to "colonialism" and "apartheid."
