An armed Israeli settler shot and seriously wounded, on Wednesday, a teenage Palestinian girl, 18 years of age, near the Council Gate (Bab al-Majles) in the Old City. Soldiers attack, injured, a woman in her home in Jerusalem.
The Israeli shooter claims “she tried to stab him,” while eyewitness’s accounts contradicted his allegation.
The Israeli police alleges the young woman “stabbed the settler in the neck, and tried to escape, before he shot her”.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said the wounded girl, from Sur Baher in Jerusalem, did not carry a knife, or a weapon, and that the Israeli assailant was harassing and insulting her, near Bab al-Majles (The Council Gate) before removing her hijab, covering her head, and shot her when she tried to push him away.
In related news, a Palestinian woman suffered various cuts and bruises in her head and shoulders after the soldiers repeatedly attacked her, in her home, in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, in Jerusalem's Silwan town.
The woman, Suad Abu Ramouz, lost consciousness, and was moved to a hospital for treatment, where she regained consciousness, and received six stitches.
The soldiers invaded her home to remove Palestinian flags, raised on its rooftop.
In addition, the army closed Bab al-Amoud, Bab as-Sahera and Bab as-Asbat, preventing the Palestinians from crossing, and pushed dozens of additional soldiers into the Old City.

Thousands of right-wing settlers have protested outside the residence of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening in occupied Jerusalem.
The wring-wing settlers demand harsher security measures in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem "in light of the deteriorating security situation". They also demanded increasing settlement construction.
Ministers in the Israeli right-wing government and MKs have participated in the protest that came in the wake of the killing of an Israeli military officer and his wife few days ago in a shooting attack in Nablus.
Israeli Minister of Welfare and Social Services Haim Katz, who recently called for imposing tougher penalties on Palestinian stone-throwers, has also called during the protest for boosting settlement construction.
Any decision to freeze settlement construction reflects the weakness of the government, he said.
Clashes have swept across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem as Israeli forces and settlers carried out deadly attacks against Palestinians, killing at least four youths and injuring more than 500 within three days.

Thousands of Israelis, including legislators and , gathered Monday in front of the home of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, calling for increased theft of Palestinian land for the expansion of Israeli colonies.
The settlers who organized the rally set up a tent and stage outside of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home, and a sound system blasted the words of the speakers along with bands playing music supportive of the settlers’ expansion campaign.
Yossi Dagan, the head of a right-wing settler group, called on the Prime Minister to establish more colonies in the northern part of the West Bank near Nablus, which is an area that is supposed to be under complete Palestinian control under the Oslo Accords of 1993, but has been increasingly violated by Israeli expansion in recent years.
“In light of recent terrorist attacks”, one of the speakers shouted, the Israeli government should forcibly take over more Palestinian land. No one at the rally addressed the fact that this expansion is likely to anger Palestinians whose land is taken, and further exacerbate the tension that has already reached a breaking point after decades of unabated Israeli encroachment onto Palestinian land.
The protesters were addressed by two Israeli Cabinet ministers, Social Affairs Minister Haim Katz and Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin. Levin stated, “We're here to strengthen the government to do the things we all believe in”, adding that he hopes to pressure the Prime Minister to increase the expansion of colonies in order "to beat terrorism in [the] most Jewish way possible."
Katz said, “we must start building kindergartens and schools, expand existing settlements and build new ones.” The expansion he calls for is in direct violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, to which Israel is a signatory, which prohibits the transfer of civilian populations into land captured and occupied by an invading military.
The Israeli military has illegally occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank since 1967. In that time, particularly since the Oslo Agreement was signed in 1993, Israeli military bases and settlement colonies have significantly expanded, with hundreds of thousands of civilians building houses and developments on illegally seized Palestinian land.

Ban Ki-moon should never worry about ongoing escalation by Israeli vandals in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet Resheq said Sunday afternoon.
Addressing the UN Chief, Resheq said in a Facebook statement: “Don’t worry an inch because our people will do it all to restore their rights and defend their sanctities, as already guaranteed by all international laws and conventions.”
In another statement posted on his Facebook page, Resheq said, “Israel’s blockade and demolitions of Palestinian civilian homes in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem is a crime aimed at dashing the hopes of our anti-occupation activists.”
“But never ever shall such a crime dampen the spirits of the Palestinian people, not even that of a single child. Such crimes only make us stronger,” he added.
“Palestinians are writing history through the very speeches and deeds of the Palestinian resistance. Silence will remain a scar on the face of every party that sides with the Israeli occupation,” Resheq further stated.
Resheq’s remarks came in response to an earlier statement by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon promising to hold contacts with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, over ongoing escalation by Israeli settlers against Palestinians.

Palestinian masked men stabbed last night a Jewish settler and badly wounded him in Eilat city, south of occupied Palestine, according to the Hebrew media.
Hebrew news websites claimed the attackers chanted religious slogans as they were stabbing the settler and then fled away, adding that a large number of police forces arrived at the scene immediately following the attack.
Israeli medical sources, in turn, described the injury of the settler as very serious.
The resistance activities, including stabbing and gunfire attacks against Israelis, has increased during the last few days in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The attacks are believed to have been carried out in retaliation to Israel's intent to Judaize the Aqsa Mosque and the settlers' recent escalation of their crimes and deadly attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank.

Over the past weeks, Israeli settlers have intensified their provocative break-ins into al-Aqsa compound under heavy police protection, raising tension in occupied Jerusalem and West Bank.
