Israeli settlers uprooted dozens of Palestinian-owned olive trees on Wednesday, in the village of Turmusayya, north of the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah.
Locals said that Israeli settlers from the illegal settlements of Adi Ad and Amichai, which were built on lands belongings to the residents of Turmusayya village, uprooted 40 olive trees.
Ma’an News Agency sources confirmed that the uprooted olive trees belonged to local Mahmoud al-Araj.
Israeli settlers constantly harass Palestinian farmers and residents in the village, in the attempt to force them out of their lands, as part of an Israeli plan to expand illegal settlements nearby.
For hundreds of Palestinian families, olive trees are the main source of income, however when harvest season approaches, Israeli settlers target Palestinian lands and cause severe economic damages.
According to a report by Israeli NGO B’Tselem, Israeli settlers’ vandalism in the occupied West Bank is a daily routine and is fully backed by Israeli authorities.
B’Tselem reported that “In just over two months, from the beginning of May to 7 July 2018, B’Tselem documented 10 instances in which settlers destroyed a total of more than 2,000 trees and grapevines and burned down a barley field and bales of hay.”
B’Tselem also argues that, under the guise of a “temporary military occupation,” Israel has been “using the land as its own: robbing land, exploiting the area’s natural resources for its own benefit and establishing permanent settlements,” estimating that Israel had dispossessed Palestinians from some 200,000 hectares (494,211 acres) of lands in the occupied Palestinian territory over the years.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank, in violation of international law, with recent announcements of settlement expansion provoking condemnation from the international community.

Jewish settlers, on Wednesday, set a Palestinian house on fire, in Hebron’s old town, according the Hebron Reconstruction Committee.
The Committee said, according to WAFA, that the settlers set fire to the house of Izeddin Sharabati, which is located in a military area near the settlement of Abraham Avino, in the heart of the old town.
The Sharabati family had lived in the four-apartment building for many years until they were forced to leave it, due to continued harassment by the settlers who used to threw rocks at the house. It has remained empty since then.

New groups of Israeli settlers on Wednesday morning broke into al-Aqsa Mosque via al-Maghareba Gate.
About 54 Israeli settlers forced their way into the Mosque amid heavy police presence and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards before leaving the site via al-Silsila Gate.

Extremist Israeli settlers overnight on Tuesday gathered on the main access road to al-Laban al-Sharkiya town, south of Nablus, and terrorized Palestinian civilians living in and passing through the area.
Speaking with PIC, eye-witnesses said over 100 Israeli settlers flocked to a crossroads between Ramallah and Nablus and yelled provocative slogans.
Israeli army patrols also showed up in the area and closed off the access road to the area to protect the settler horde, before they backtracked toward the nearby illegal settlement of Shilo.

Over the past seven days, three separate hate crimes against Palestinians in Jerusalem have been documented, according to Israeli media sources.
On Sunday, the Israeli paper Haaretz reported that “several dozen Orthodox men” began throwing stones, as well as tables and chairs from a sidewalk café, at Palestinian passersby near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, in the al-Misrara neighborhood.
At least five Palestinians were injured in the attack, and several vehicles were damaged. No arrests were made.
Footage from Twitter shows a large number of men running down the street, shouting anti-Arab slurs.
Last Wednesday, in Gonenim Park in the Katamon neighborhood of southwest Jerusalem, which is traditionally a Palestinian Christian area, a gang of Orthodox men attacked four Palestinian students, all of whom are residents of Beit Safafa neighborhood in Jerusalem.
One of the survivors of the attack, law student Islam Agwa, told reporters, “We were sitting there for maybe five minutes when we saw a group of about 30 men, age 20 to 35 – one looked like their rabbi, around 55. They were looking for Arabs and the second they saw we were Arabs their rabbi said a word and they jumped us.”
Agwa suffered a broken nose and severe lacerations to his face and neck. Another survivor is in the hospital with a severely injured shoulder from having a cement block thrown at him.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants used tasers on some of the victims.
Four Israelis were arrested Tuesday for questioning in relation to the attack, but were released later the same day. No one has been charged.
And earlier this week, in the illegal Israeli settlement of Beitar Illit east of Jerusalem, a Palestinian bus driver was assaulted by a gang of Orthodox youth, and badly beaten.
The Israeli anti-racism group Tag Meir told Haaretz, “Dozens of Arab drivers are attacked each year in violent racist assaults. Only a tiny number of these assaults are investigated by the police, and in most cases, the assailants run free.”
Such attacks against Palestinians by Israelis are common, and are rarely prosecuted. According to the Israeli paper Ha’aretz, the recent spate of attacks coincides with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot – the paper added that the number of attacks against Palestinians by Orthodox Israelis usually spikes during Jewish holy days.
In March, a similar attack occurred against a Palestinian bus driver in Jerusalem. The Israeli anti-racist group Tag Meir wrote that when bus driver George Natsii stopped his bus along the side of the road, “a group of youths started to call him ‘Arab, Arab’ and threw large stones at him. He was injured in the stomach and back, and even set upon by their dog who bit him on his scalp as he lay on the asphalt being kicked by this racist gang.”
No one was charged or arrested for that attack.
According to a report in al-Andalos paper, Jerusalem has become a hotbed for anti-Palestinian attacks by Jewish Israelis with the ongoing takeover of Palestinian land and homes by the Israeli government, military and civilians. The paper noted that “Israel, which has built 19 illegal settlements in East Jerusalem since 1968, placed more than 200,000 Jews in these places.
As of today, there are 316,000 Palestinians living in the city, which has a population of 850,000. The remaining people are Jews. The Israeli authorities are expanding Jewish settlements and also prevent Arab population in the city from building new houses.”
These tensions hit a peak in 2014, when a gang of Jewish Israelis kidnapped, tortured and burned to death 15-year old Mohammad Abu Khdeir. Earlier this year, the family of Abu Khdeir filed a civil suit against his murderers for $1.5 million – “Not to make money, but so that these murderers will continue to be punished after they are released from prison”.
Earlier this year, the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) passed a law declaring that only Jews have the right of self-determination in Israel and downgrades Arabic from its status as an official state language. Palestinians in Israel and Jerusalem have lost many rights as a result, and many say it has given racists license to attack Palestinians and engage in many types of discrimination – from employment, to housing, to schooling to shopping.

Scores of Israeli settlers on Tuesday broke into al-Aqsa Mosque amid heavy police presence.
Quds Press reported that Israeli police forces accompanied several groups of Israeli settlers as they forced their way into the Mosque during the early morning hours via al-Maghareba Gate.
A large number of Israeli police officers secured the break-in, which lasted for five hours, until the settlers left the site via al-Silsila Gate, it added.
According to Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department, 23 Israeli settlers, 40 Jewish students of religious institutes, and five Israeli intelligence officers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday morning.

Illegal Israeli colonialist settlers flooded the al-Khan al-Ahmar Bedouin Palestinian community with Sewage water, in an attempt to force the inhabitants to leave their Dwellings, just as the ultimatum set by the Israeli court for their displacement went into effect, Monday.
Abdullah Abu Rahma, a senior nonviolent activist and the head of Save al-Khan al-Ahmar Campaign, said both the Israeli soldiers and the colonialist settlers are constantly increasing the suffering of the Palestinians, and continuously violating their rights, even their very existence, in order to remove and displace them.
Abu Rahma said the assailants, from Kfar Adumim illegal colony, flooded the community with Sewage water, in yet another means of assaults and violations against nearly 200 Palestinians, including children.
“Both the settlers and the soldiers are partaking in these violations and war on the inhabitants of a-Khan al-Ahmar,” he said, “But the violations, and isolation of the community, will not only increase the steadfastness and determination of the villagers.”
He also called for increasing the support and solidarity with the Bedouin community, to foil the illegal Israeli plans of displacement, and replacing the Palestinians with illegal colonialist settlers.

Eid Abu Dahouk, the mayor of al-Khan al-Ahmar, said that “by flooding the community with sewage, the colonialist settlers are engaging in a new form of war against the inhabitants.
He warned of the grave consequences, and health risks resulting from this serious violation against al-Khan al-Ahmar, especially the children, in addition to the livestock, the only source of livelihood of the families.
The Palestinians, along with international peace activists, are ongoing with their nonviolent protests in al-Khan al-Ahmar, despite the constant assaults, violations and threats of forceful eviction.

On September 5th, the Israeli supreme court denied an appeal against the demolition of the Palestinian community, and ordered its removal and displacement.
The first ruling by the court was made in May of this year, when it granted the military a green light for demolishing it.
There are approximately 200 Palestinians living in al-Khan al-Ahmar, %53 of them are children, and %95 of the population are refugees officially registered by the UNRWA. The community has one school providing education to 170 children.
It is worth mentioning that al-Khan al-Ahmar is surrounded by several illegal Israeli colonies, while Israel wants to remove it as part of its E1 colonialist project, which aims at surrounding occupied Jerusalem with a chain of Jewish-only colonies, and blocking the geographical contiguity of the occupied West Bank, and completely isolating the Palestinians from Jerusalem.

Many illegal Israeli colonists invaded, on Tuesday at dawn, Palestinian agricultural lands in Khirbat Lafjan area, east of Aqraba village, south of Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, and uprooted dozens of trees.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the assailants came from Itamar illegal colony, which was built on Palestinian lands.
He added that the colonists bulldozed and uprooted more than 200 Dunams, owned by members of Sbeih and al-At’out families.
Daghlas also stated that Israeli soldiers were present near the area, but did not attempt to stop the attacks.
It is worth mentioning that the army has recently informed the Palestinians that their lands “are owned by the state,” and will soon be used for military training.

Scores of extremist Israeli settlers took down to Jerusalem’s streets on Monday, in a provocative rally inciting hatred against Palestinians and Muslims.
Israeli settlers marched from Bab al-Amoud down to the streets of the Old City, yelling racist anti-Arab slogans and calling for building the alleged Jewish temple on the ruins of the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli police troops and special units escorted the fanatic settlers all the way though the event.
The march kicked off from the Buraq Square (al-Aqsa’s western plaza), down to al-Wad Street.
Palestinian civilians and Muslim worshipers attempting to reach al-Aqsa Mosque were barred by Israeli policemen from attaining their destination.
The march falls in line with the last day of the Jewish Sukkot holiday.
