Local sources told a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center that an exchange of fire and sporadic explosions happened in the industrial zone of Jenin city after soldiers stormed it and other neighborhoods and clashed with local youths.

They said that the events started after a large number of soldiers with their vehicles spread through different neighborhoods in the city, including al-Basateen, Nablus Street and the industrial zone, and kidnaped a citizen and his sons from their home.

The detainees were identified as Rushdi al-Bad and his sons, Udai and Mohamed.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday evening, Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and injured many Palestinians protesting the invasion.

Media sources said several army jeeps invaded the ath-Thaher area, close to the illegal Karmie Tzur colony, which was built on private Palestinian lands, south of the town.

They added that the soldiers attacked Palestinian protesters with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, in addition to firing gas bombs directly at homes.

Many Palestinians suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, while several others suffered cuts and bruises.

Israel floods Gaza farmlands with wastewater
Picture
The Israeli occupation authorities have opened water dams and channeled wastewater toward Palestinian farmlands on the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, Gaza's Ministry of Agriculture said on Sunday.

Adham al-Basyouni, the ministry's spokesman, said in a statement to Anadolu Agency that the Israeli wastewater has flooded agricultural lands, dairy farms and apiaries east of  Shejaiya neighborhood in Gaza City.

Al-Basyouni added that opening the dams has damaged crops, destroyed apiaries, and led to soil erosion and death of cows and sheep, which resulted in huge losses for farmers.

He noted that Israel every year intentionally opens water dams and channels to flood agricultural lands in Gaza without prior warning.

IOF blocks march from going to evacuated site of settlement
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday prevented Palestinian participants in a peaceful march from reaching the hills in northern Nablus where the illegal settlement of Homesh was once situated.

Burqa town mayor Jihad Salah said that dozens of local residents participated in a march, organized by his municipality, towards the hills of al-Qubaibat area, where the settlement of Homesh was once there before its evacuation and demolition in 2005.

Salah explained that Israeli forces blocked the main way leading to the abandoned site of the settlement and barred them from continuing their march, which provoked the participants to engage in a verbal altercation with the soldiers.

He added that he showed the soldiers officials documents from the Israeli high court of justice and the Israeli army commandership that allow them to enter the area any time.

This was the third time the IOF prevented the local residents from going to the area in recent weeks.

Two weeks ago, the IOF banned the municipality from holding an activity intended to plant trees in the same area.

The Israeli occupation regime had evacuated and dismantled Homesh in 2005, but local residents from Burqa town managed some years later to obtain a verdict from the Israeli high court proving their ownership of the land in al-Qubaibat area — the same location of the evacuated settlement.
