It said that commuters at the bus station managed to restrain the Palestinian teen and handed him to the police after beating him.
The youth, who was only identified as a 16-year-old minor from Jenin, was “illegally” residing in the green line looking for work, Hebrew press said.
The Israeli northern police commander arrived at the scene along with big numbers of policemen, who cordoned off the area and combed surrounding areas.

Soldier shot in neck near checkpoint adjacent to Cave of Patriarchs; rushed to Jerusalem hospital in critical condition but later dies of wounds
An IDF soldier was killed Sunday after he was shot in the neck near a checkpoint in Hebron's Cave of Patriarchs. He was rushed to the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition but eventually died of his wounds. An initial estimate suggests he was shot by a Palestinian sniper.
Security forces have set up roadblocks in the area in a bid to capture the shooter. Hebron is under a lock-down.
The shooting is thought to have occurred during a riot in the Cave of Patriarchs area. Security forces at the site were on high alert in light of Sukkot events. Palestinian hurled stones and fired firecrackers at troops who responded with crowd-dispersal means.
Security forces are evacuating thousands of visitors from the site. IDF sources said the army is treating the incident as a shooting attack and employing appropriate measures.
On Saturday it was revealed that Sgt. Tomer Hazan, an Israeli soldier, was murdered by Nidal Amar, who had worked with him at a Bat Yam restaurant.
Amar had lured Hazan to his home in the West Bank, murdered him and dumped his body in a well.
He told investigators he had murdered Hazan in order to use the body as a bargaining tool to free his brother, a Tanzim operative held in Israel for involvement in terrorist activity.
Hazan was laid to rest in a Holon cemetery on Sunday afternoon.

An Israeli soldier has been abducted and killed by a Palestinian man in the West Bank, the Israeli military says.
The soldier was seized on Friday and his body found near the town of Qalqiliya on Saturday, a military spokesman told the AFP news agency.
A suspect has been arrested. The Israeli prime minister's spokesman named him on Twitter as Nidal Ammer, 42, who worked with the soldier.
The West Bank has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967.
Israeli officials said the suspect confessed to abducting and killing the soldier in the hope that he could trade the body in exchange for the release of his imprisoned brother.
Israel's internal security agency, Shin Bet, told the Associated Press (AP) the soldier's body was found in a well in a Palestinian village near the city of Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank.
The military says the soldier's family has been notified, AP reports.
