Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians in the Masafer Yatta area in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, on Monday.
Coordinator of the National and Popular Committee in southern Hebron, Rateb al-Jbour, reported that a group of Israeli settlers assaulted unarmed Palestinian farmers which caused a fight between the settlers and farmers.
The assaulted Palestinian farmers were left with bruises across their bodies.
Al-Jbour added that Israeli settlers were escorted by armed Israeli forces.
Israeli settlers reportedly places signs on Palestinian lands indicating their intention of expanding nearby illegal settlements.
Around 3,000 Israeli settlers live in illegal Jewish-only settlements in the Yatta region, according to the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem.
The South Hebron Hills, known locally as Masafer Yatta, lie almost entirely in Area C, the 62 percent of the West Bank under full Israeli civil and security control since the 1993 Oslo Accords.
Masafer Yatta residents were expelled at the time of the establishment of a firing zone in the 1970s and were eventually allowed back following a long court battle, but are under the constant threat of being expelled or seeing their homes demolished.

Israeli ultra-Orthodox Knesset member, Yehuda Glick stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Monday morning, to perform a wedding ritual inside the compound in violation of standing rules.
Locals told Ma'an that Glick, who was escorted by other Israeli settlers, performed and filmed a wedding ritual inside the compound alongside his fiancee. An Al-Aqsa guard described the step to Ma'an that as a provocative and dangerous challenge to the feelings of Muslims and worshipers. Palestinian Minister of Islamic Endowment, Youssef Ideis, said that Israeli violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque have reached a serious stage. |
The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which sits just above the Western Wall plaza, houses both the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosque. The third holiest site in Islam, it is also venerated as Judaism's most holy place, as it sits where Jews believe the First and Second Temples once stood.
While Jewish visitation is permitted to the compound, non-Muslim worship at Al-Aqsa is prohibited according to an agreement signed between Israel and the Jordanian government after Israel’s illegal occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967.

Israeli settlers on Monday seized privately-owned Palestinian lands in Beit Iskaria village in Bethlehem which is surrounded by a number of illegal settlements that form the so-called Gush Etzion bloc.

He affirmed that the landowners have legal documents proving their ownership of the land and are therefore going to appoint a lawyer to take the case to court.

Miri Regev, the Israeli Minister of Culture and Sport of Israel, toured the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem, as dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday.
A Ma'an reporter said that Regev toured the streets of the Old City along with a camera crew, in order to shoot her political campaign, for the upcoming Israeli legislative elections in April.
Meanwhile, about 39 Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Moroccans Gate in the form of successive groups and toured throughout the compound.
Israeli forces, who were deployed across the compound, banned the entry of clothes of Al-Aqsa guards.
Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani, director of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, pointed out that Israeli forces also banned employees from the Islamic Endowment Department from entry into compound, preventing them from carrying out their work duties.
Al-Kiswani added that such provocations by Israeli forces occur on a daily basis.
Eyewitnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces detained a Palestinian youth in the streets in Jerusalem’s Old City, in addition the youth was repeatedly assaulted by the soldiers. video
The reason for the youth’s detention remained unknown.

Despite the agreement with Jordan -- which is the custodian of Al-Aqsa -- Israeli authorities regularly allow Jewish visitors to enter the site, often under armed guard. Such visits are typically made by right-wingers attempting to unsettle the status quo at the site, and coincide with restrictions on Palestinian access, including bans on entrance and detentions.

The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nikolay Mladenov, condemned in a tweet the Israeli settlers’ killing of a Palestinian father during an attack on al-Mughayyir village, on Saturday.
Mladenov posted in a tweet, “Today's violence in al-Mughayyir is shocking and unacceptable!”
He added, “Israel must put an end to settler violence & bring those responsible to justice.”
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the #Palestinian man killed and those injured… All must condemn violence, stand up to terror,” he stressed.

Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee Member Hanan Ashrawi said that the Israeli government and its allies are responsible for rise in settler terrorism, referring to the earlier shooting by Israeli settlers of a Palestinian father in the al-Mughayyir village.
Ashrawi condemned on behalf of the PLO “the heinous murder of Hamdi Naasan, 38, and the injury of 30 other Palestinian civilians at the hands of armed Israeli settler militias.”
She said, “Under heavy protection from Israeli forces, these militias raided al-Mughayyir village near Ramallah, terrorizing the defenseless residents and wreaking havoc in the isolated village.”
She continued, “The political climate in Israel negates Palestinian rights and expresses objectionable racism against the Palestinian people. As such, the marked escalation of terror attacks by armed groups of Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians is a natural outcome of the culture of hate and atmosphere of incitement and violence against Palestinians that this extremist Israeli government espouses and promotes.”
She held the Israeli government wholly responsible for what she described as a “heinous crime.”
Ashrawi stressed that governments that actively support Israel’s colonial regime and “shield it from accountability also bear moral and criminal liability” for the crimes committed by Israeli forces and settlers, who commit “murder with impunity.”
She added, “Equally, states that choose to remain silent against this terror campaign must understand that in these times of injustice, silence is complicity.”

The Hamas Movement has called for pooling the efforts to confront the Israeli occupation and its settlers through re-forming committees to guard West Bank villages and towns.
“The cowardly attack by settlers on al-Mughayyir village in Ramallah where they fired live bullets at unarmed civilians under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces is a crime connected with the existence of the brutal occupation on our land,” Hamas said in a press release on Saturday.
“Such a crime vindicates the gravity of the encroaching settlement outposts in the West Bank because they harbor murderers, criminals, extremists and racists who allow themselves to commit violations against our people and persist in attacking their property and lands,” it added.
The Movement applauded the residents of al-Mughayyir village for standing in the face of armed settlers with their bare chests, saying that their bravery reflected the Palestinian people’s adherence to the resistance option.
