The Hamas leader and former Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Dr. Ismail Radwan, condemned on Thursday the arson attack on both sacred sites, saying, “Torching the holy sites and writing anti-Islamic and anti-Christian slogans by Israeli settlers demonstrate that the Israeli occupation constitutes a danger to humanity and to holy places”.
Dr. Radwan called on the international community along with human rights organizations to work on putting Israel on the terror list for its crimes that show hatred and hostility to humanity and holy sites.
The extremist Jewish groups started a fire at dawn Wednesday in a mosque in Jaba town to the west of Bethlehem and did the same thing early Thursday in the Church of Dormition on Mt. Zion in Occupied Jerusalem.

Although, they know the perpetrators of those attacks, the Israeli police mostly attribute the actions to anonymous vandals and do not conduct serious investigations.
In this regard, Dimitri Diliani, secretary-general of the national Christian coalition in the holy lands, said the Islamic and Christian holy places are systematically targeted by Jewish terrorist gangs.
Diliani held Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu fully responsible for the recent arson attacks on the Mosque of Jab'a village and the Abbey of the Dormition, and all previous and future attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites by Jewish groups receiving financial, security and political support from his government.
He stressed that the Muslims and Christians' presence on their land would never be affected by such terrorist actions that unmask the true image of the Israeli right-wing and its fascist government.

According to the Palestinian Voluntary Action Commission, settlers from the illegal settlement outpost of Beit Hadassa stormed a Palestinian land that had been planted with a hundred olive saplings near Qurtuba School.
Settlers destroyed the fence surrounding the land and proceeded to uproot a hundred olive saplings that were planted by Palestinian activists, three weeks ago, as part of a campaign to plant one million trees on land facing seizure in Hebron.
The campaign, WAFA reports, intended to help Palestinian farmers maintain ownership of their farmlands threatened by Israeli annexation and replant tree seedlings on damaged land.
Furthermore, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency, Israeli soldiers stormed Khirbet Gween, in the south of Hebron, and distributed notices to all citizens to evacuate the area.
Local sources said that Israeli forces, accompanied by civil administration crews raided the village and delivered the notifications, adding that the Israeli occupation forces claimed that the area to be under their control, in order to build settlements instead.
To be noted, the residents of Khirbet Gween have lived there for decades.

Star of David, biblical phrases scrawled on wall of West Bank mosque set ablaze in hate crime attack.
A Palestinian mosque in the West Bank was attacked overnight Tuesday in what appears to be yet another possible 'price tag' hate crime attack by extremists settlers.
Palestinian residents say that a mosque in Jab'a, near Bethlehem, was set on fire Tuesday night and sprayed with Hebrew-language graffiti. The mosque sustained some damage, and according to local residents, Jewish settlers were seen near the mosque.
Biblical phrases and a Star of David were spray-painted onto the structure, reinforcing claims it was Jewish settlers behind the attack. The IDF said it was investigating.
Jibreen al-Bakri, governor of the Bethlehem region, says the mosque in the village of Jab'a near Bethlehem was set alight at dawn Wednesday, damaging the mosque's walls and carpeted floor. No one was hurt in the overnight attack in Al-Jaba'ah village near Bethlehem, during which the mosque's windows were broken and something burning was thrown inside, Mayor No'man Hamdan said.
"God's mercy and people's alertness when the fire started prevented it from consuming the entire mosque. Part of the carpets burned," he told Reuters.
Hebrew graffiti was left on the walls that read "we want the redemption of Zion" and "revenge" alongside a Jewish Star of David.

Israel’s Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barakat on Monday launched a campaign mobilizing settler masses to partake in Jerusalem Marathon, scheduled for 13 March, Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage said on Tuesday.
The Foundation said in a statement some 25,000 runners, mostly Israelis, are expected to join the Marathon. Around 2,200 candidates, from 60 countries, are also to partake in the event.
Efforts have been underway by the Israeli occupation municipality and ministry of tourism to exert a pull on some 60 media crews to cover the Judaization marathon.
The running event is set to pass through Arab and Islamic sites in Old Jerusalem. The race’s route is designed in such a malevolent way so as to set the stage for the propagation of the Israeli counterfeit chronicles and alleged terminology via a bundle of guiding maps.
The running event is usually held on Fridays, a day loaded with deep religious significance for Muslim believers.
The race aims at disseminating the concept of “Jerusalem as the capital of the eternal Jewish state”, and at propping up Israeli economy at the expense of the Palestinians’, the statement further pointed out.
The fact that dozens of multi-national corporations figure in a series of ads published by the Israeli municipality in Jerusalem, testifies to the key-role played by the race in fostering Israeli Judaization schemes.
The Foundation further warned of the serious repercussions of the race, branding it a camouflaged Judaizaing activity that should not be backed up, whether directly or indirectly.

On the afternoon of the 21st of February Saleh Abu Shamsiya, a 10-year-old Palestinian boy, was attacked by settler youth in the Al-Khalil (Hebron) neighborhood of Tel Rumeida.
Saleh’s father and activist with the group Human Rights Defenders Imad Abu Shamsiya reported that the settlers, who looked around 18-19 years old, surrounded his son while he was playing in the snow and stabbed him in the arm with a sharp metal object about 15 cm long.
Saleh’s wound, which required 2 stitches at the hospital.
The soldiers stationed at Gilbert checkpoint, directly beside where the attack took place, did nothing try to prevent the settlers from assaulting Saleh. The boy was then taken to the hospital where the wound required two stitches. The night after the attack, Saleh could not sleep from the pain.
The following day, at 2:40pm, Saleh was again playing in the snow on the hills of Tel Rumeida when he was kidnapped by soldiers and brought to the military base in the Tel Rumeida’s illegal settlement. The 10-year-old boy was kept for about 20 minutes before Israeli police took him to the DCO (District Coordinator Office). After that the boy was handed over to the Palestinian police who informed his father about his whereabouts.
Saleh’s family lives very near the illegal Israeli settlement in Tel Rumeida, occupied by some of Palestine’s most violent Zionist settlers. Israeli occupation forces and settlers have repeatedly targeted the Abu Shamsiya family. Saleh’s brothers Awne and Mohammed have both been beaten by settlers, who used to routinely occupy the family’s roof. The nearby illegal settlements, along with the Israeli military occupation, continue to deny some of this family’s most basic human needs such as freedom of movement and the right of their children to play.

Israeli Special Forces stormed al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday in groups each of which was escorted by an officer and a guide as part what the Israeli occupation describes as “tourism for non-Muslims”.
42 members of the Israeli Special Unit, Yasam, broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in a scene that has been repeatedly witnessed lately in the holy site.
The special military groups toured different areas of al-Aqsa, especially al- Marwani Mosque, al-Masjid al-Qibli and al-Asbat Gate.
For its part, the Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage expressed its concern over this increasing phenomenon; as statistics indicate that the Israeli army and Special Forces have been carrying out incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque on an almost daily basis since the beginning of this month.
In a related context, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) prevented children from entering the Mosque on Sunday, and tried to arrest one of them at al-Silsila Gate under the pretext of hurling snowballs at the settlers who broke into al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the Media Coordinator of Endowments Department in Jerusalem Feras al-Debes.
IOF also arrested two youths from al-Issawiya district, north of occupied Jerusalem, during "Youm al-Ribat" (solidarity day for al-Aqsa Mosque) and they were taken to Qishleh police center for interrogation.
The Israeli police held a Palestinian car carrying a group of children for hours after al-Asr (afternoon) prayer and searched it, but after the intervention of hundreds of the worshipers the Israeli police had to let the car go after issuing a 1000 shekel traffic violation ticket against the driver and confiscating his driving license for six months.
