The Palestinians protested a proposed peace plan for the Middle East aimed at ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which was unveiled last week by U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
The plan stipulates a demilitarized Palestinian state will be established on 70% of the West Bank and Israel will extend its sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and all Jewish settlements in the disputed territory.
Demonstrations have been taking place daily since the revealing of Trump's so-called "Deal of Century". No injuries have been reported in these events.
Israeli sources said security ties with the Palestinian Authority continue unchanged in Hebron despite statements made by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in an Arab League emergency meeting in Cairo Saturday, threatening to halt cooperation with Israel and the United States.
“We are informing you that there will be no relations with you (Israel) and the United States, including on security cooperation,” Abbas announced, adding that Israel will have to “bear responsibility as an occupying power.”
