The Israeli police chief in Occupied Jerusalem on Monday ordered the evacuation of the Aqsa Mosque’s Bab al-Rahma prayer building.
According to local sources, Israeli police forces embarked upon orders from their commander to forcibly evacuate Muslim worshipers from the building.
In recent weeks, police forces stormed the Bab al-Rahma area several times and confiscated pieces of furniture from the building.
Last February, Jerusalemite citizens managed to reopen the Bab al-Rahma prayer area of the Mosque after it was locked for 16 years by the Israeli police.
Jerusalemite officials have already expressed fears of Israeli intents to take over the Bab al-Rahma area and turn it into a Jewish temple as a prelude to taking over the entire Islamic holy site, which Jews claim to be a temple mount. video

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday at dawn, Sebastia town, north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, before storming and ransacking dozens of homes.
Mohammad Azem, the head of Sebastia Local Council, said the soldiers violently searched the invaded homes, causing damage, and threatened to shoot any Palestinian who protests the constant invasions carried out by colonialist settlers and soldiers into the archaeological site in the town.
He stated that the invasion is part of numerous and escalating violations against the town and its residents, and is also a part of the Israeli attempts to prevent the Local Council from implementing the al-Baidar tourism project.
The army claims the work obstructs the entry of the settlers into the archaeological area, especially since the illegal colonists are planning to hold celebrations there, while the army continues to deny the local indigenous Palestinians access to it.

Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan said, Friday, that the state of Israel is considering allowing Jews to pray inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In an official statement, Erdan said: “I am sure this will happen soon, God willing.” He emphasized that “the situation in Jerusalem is heading towards regaining sovereignty and control over the place.
We will reach our goal when more Jews express their desire to visit the Temple Mount (Al-Aqsa, ed). Then there will be an increasing pressure following an increasing demand. I hope this happens soon.
When we reach this stage, we will work and push for changing the historical status quo in Jerusalem in light of respecting the international interests for Israel.”
“Any prejudice to the beliefs and sanctities will inevitably violate the rights of peoples and nations, which will bring only destruction and devastation.”
He also stated, according to the PNN: “We should consider the regional situation in the Middle East, which is complicated and complex. I respect the peace deal with Jordan and consider it a very important achievement, but it is impossible to accept a historical mistake.
Principles change through time.”
Erdan stressed that there are no laws impeding the motion from being ratified, especially if the Israeli Supreme Court backs it.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem’s Islamic leaders warned, yesterday, that Erdan’s remarks could have grave consequences for the already frail relations between different religious groups and ethnicities in Jerusalem. The Islamic Awqaf Council, the Higher Islamic Commission, the Palestinian Iftaa Department and the Jerusalem Awqaf Department even go so far as to say that Israel might be inciting a religious war.
More specifically, they commented: “These irresponsible statements could drag the region and the whole world into an inevitable religious conflict that we do not want. Any prejudice to the beliefs and sanctities will inevitably violate the rights of peoples and nations, which will bring only destruction and devastation.”
Current arrangements
After the Six Day War, during which Israel occupied and annexed East Jerusalem, the Israeli Knesset passed the Preservation of the Holy Places Law, which granted different religious groups access to their various holy sites. The Islamic Waqf would receive the administration and care of the site of Al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock. In 1967, the Chief Rabbinate of Israel even went so far as to forbid Jews to walk on the Temple Mount.
Most religious Jews respect this arrangement. However, the last couple of years has seen a spike in Jewish eschatological groups trying to access the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound, which, for them, is the location of the Temple Mount. Obviously, this is perceived as a provocation by Muslims, both secular and religious, and often leads to conflicts.

On July 31, 2015, the Palestinian Dawabsha family was attacked in their home, by Israeli settlers throwing molotov cocktails, setting fire to the house, killing an 18 month old boy named Ali, and subsequently his parents Sa’ad Mohammad, and his wife Reham, leaving 4 year Ahmad suffering third degree burns.
The family home in Douma village, south of the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus, was ambushed by illegal extremist Israeli settlers, while the family slept, resulting in extreme burns suffered by all members of the Dawabsha family.
According to Israeli ‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ newspaper, the fanatic Israeli Jewish settler whose name and identity were kept confidential, was charged with second-degree murder for the arson-murder, is joining the Israeli army next year.
The Israeli court dropped murder charges against the accused Israeli settler, and decided to involve him in a one-year military training to “adjust his behaviour.”
‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ stated that the Israeli court dropped the original indictment which had charged the accused with conspiring to commit a crime, while the new, amended indictment charges him with being involved in hate crimes against Palestinians.
In July 2018, the court released the main accused, a minor at the time of the crime, to house arrest after being kept in jail for two years. The court had ruled that his confessions were inadmissible because they were allegedly obtained by the Israeli Shin Bet security service under extreme duress.
However, he admitted guilt as part of a plea deal between his lawyers and the state prosecutor’s office in the central district court in Lod. He admitted to planning the torching of a Palestinian home in a racially motivated conspiracy and to marking out the Palestinian village with another settler.
