Mahdi al-Saadi 20
Early Saturday, Israeli police shot and killed 20-year old Mahdi al-Saadi, a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship, near the Jaffa port, and moderately wounded another young man.
Police claim that the two tried to shoot at police from a motorcycle, but their families denied those claims. No police were injured.
Following the police killing, the Israeli police held the body of al-Saadi in custody, preventing the family from holding the funeral (Islamic custom requires a funeral to be held as quickly as possible after a death).
Hundreds of people gathered at the family home of al-Saadi, then marched to the Abu Kabir Detention Facility, where his body is being held.
Police say they are negotiating with the family for the release of the body.
At the same time, dozens of heavily-armored Israeli police lined up outside the detention facility where the protesters were gathered. Clashes broke out between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters, in which the Israeli police fired tear gas and concussion grenades at the crowd.
Four were arrested during the protest, including a leader with the Islamic Organization in Jaffa, Abdel-Qader Abu Shehada. Police took the four to the Yftah detention center, where they were subjected to interrogation, according to local sources.
The police arrested four young men, including a member of the Islamic Organization in Jaffa, Abdul Qader Abu Shehada, during the protests against the killing of Saadi, and took them to the police station ‘Yftah’ in the city, where Abu Shehada was arrested from the center of ‘Yvit’, following the clashes that erupted between Police and youths angry at Saadi’s death.
Al-Saadi is the third Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces in the past 24 hours. On Friday, a 24 year old man was killed at a military base south of Bethlehem, and a 16-year old boy was killed at a protest in Gaza.

Two young men in their 20s were rushed to Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital so as to be treated for moderate leg wounds inflicted in the sniper attack.
Dozens of Gazans flocked to the border area near al-Bureij Camp and burned tires in protest at the Israeli assaults and tough restrictions at al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sometime earlier, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of 24-year-old Abdullah Taqatqa on allegations that he attempted to carry out an anti-occupation stabbing near Etzion crossroads, south of Bethlehem.
The Israeli soldiers wrapped the casualty’s body in a black plastic bag and transferred it to an unknown destination.
At the same time, cameraman Aymen al-Noubani, working for Wafa News Agency was shot and injured by the Israeli army as he took footages of an Israeli assault on a peaceful march staged near Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus, in support of al-Aqsa Mosque.
Several protesters sustained rubber bullet wounds and others choked on teargas after the Israeli forces aggressively disbanded worshipers in Nablus, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem streets.
Al least four Palestinian protesters were kidnapped and two others injured after Israeli undercover troops attacked a peaceful march held near the northern entrance to al-Bireh.
The occupation army targeted the Palestinian rally-goers during a mass rally organized by Hamas in the southern West Bank province of al-Khalil with rubber bullets and toxic gas, leaving several protesters wounded. At least five wounded Palestinians were evacuated to al-Khalil’s public hospital.
The occupation soldiers stormed the hospital in the hunt for the wounded protesters. Several patients sustained breathing disorders due to the random spates of teargas unleashed by the Israeli forces.
Fierce clashes further rocked al-Khalil’s town of Beit Ummar and al-Arroub camp, where the occupation troops attacked Palestinian anti-occupation youth with bullet fire and teargas.
At the same time, violent clashes flared up in Tulkarem province after the Israeli military forces cracked down on a march condemning the Israeli measures at al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli Soldiers Kill A Palestinian Near Bethlehem
Israeli soldiers shot and killed, on Friday afternoon, a young Palestinian man at the junction of Gush Etzion Israeli colony, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, after the soldiers alleged that the man “attempted to stab them.”
The Palestinian has been identified as Abdullah Ali Mahmoud Taqatqa, 24, from Marah M’alla town, east of Bethlehem.
The Israeli military said the soldiers “neutralized” the Palestinian,” after he attempted to stab them.
The term is also largely used by various Israeli media agencies, and is frequently adopted by pro-Israel news agencies, and reporters.
An eyewitness told the Maan News Agency that the Palestinian was walking towards Bethlehem, and was at least twenty meters away from the nearest soldiers, when one of them shouted at him, and fired a live round, before other soldiers fired five more rounds.
He added that the soldiers then approached the Palestinian, before one of them kicked him to flip him over, and fired another round at him.
“I swear to God; the young man had no weapon of any kind… he had no knives, no weapons… nothing,” the eyewitness said.
The army said its soldiers “thwarted a stabbing attack,” and added that “the Palestinian “ran towards the soldiers while wielding a knife.”
In the Gaza Strip, the soldiers killed 16-year old Hussein Abu Hamisha Friday during a protest against the ongoing Israeli assault on the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and the deadly and inhumane conditions of the Israeli siege of Gaza.

Mohammed Zakaria al-Jawawdeh 17
A 17-year old teen who was supposed to be delivering furniture to the Israeli Consulate in Amman, Jordan was shot and killed by an Israeli military guard stationed outside, after he allegedly tried to stab the guard with a screwdriver. The child’s parents say that the dispute was about the price of the furniture he was delivering, and that he hadn’t tried to stab anyone.
The incident took place at a privately-owned building rented by the Israeli government as a residence for some of its consular employees.
A second Jordanian shot and killed by the Israeli guard was identified by local sources as the owner of the building.
After the Israeli guard shot and killed the teenager and the building owner, the Israeli government rushed him and the rest of their consular staff out of the country, sparking the biggest diplomatic crisis between Jordan and Israel in years.
The teenager who was killed was identified by local media as Mohammed Zakaria al-Jawawdeh, a 17-year-old carpenter. The Israeli guard was injured, according to Israeli sources – but it’s not clear how the guard was injured.
The Jordanian government has not issued a statement on the incident, but Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu issued a statement late Monday that the Jordanian Ambassador to Israel had spoken with officials in the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Yousef Abbas Kashour 24
The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that a young Palestinian man, who was shot by Israeli army fire in the al-‘Ezariyya town, east of occupied East Jerusalem, on Saturday evening, has died from his serious wounds.
The Palestinian was shot with a live round in his chest, and was moved to Jericho governmental hospital, in Jericho city, before he was later transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex, in Ramallah, due to the seriousness of his condition.
He has been identified as Yousef Abbas Kashour, 24, from Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem. Doctors and surgeons tried to save his life, and admitted him to the surgery room, but he died from his serious wounds.
He was shot during clashes that took place after Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinian worshipers, who held evening prayers near the Tribes Gate in Jerusalem, and sprayed them with waste-water mixed with chemicals.
Thousands of Palestinians have been holding prayers in the street and alleys surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, rejecting Israel’s closure and siege on the holy site, and refusing to go through metal-detention electronic gates that have been installed around the mosque, following the fatal shooting which took place on Friday morning, July 14, leading to the death of three Palestinians, and two Israeli officers, who were also Arab citizens of Israel.
It is worth mentioning that Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, said the Palestinians completely reject the Israeli restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque, including the electric gates, searches and all provocative measures.
Sheikh Hussein demanded complete freedom of worship, without any obstructions or restrictions, as stated by all related international and humanitarian laws.

Odai Aziz Khalil Nawaj’a 17
Palestinian medical sources have reported, on Saturday evening, that a teenage boy from a village near Tubas, in the northeastern West Bank, was killed after an Israeli explosive, dropped by the soldiers during one of their frequent military drills, detonated beneath him.
The sources said the teen has been identified as Odai Aziz Khalil Nawaj’a, 17, from Tubas, and added that he suffered serious injuries, and died from his wounds at the Turkish Hospital, in Tubas.
Eyewitnesses said Nawaj’a was standing in the shade of a tree when apparently stepped on the explosive or moved it, and suffered life-threatening injuries that led to his death.
Nawaj’a was from Khirbit Ebzeeq village, a small Palestinian community that is frequently targeted by the Israeli army, especially since the soldiers repeatedly conduct live fire training, which also includes explosives.
There are approximately forty families in Khirbet Ebzeeq; they were displaced from historic Palestine in 1948, and fled to the West Bank.
They are shepherds and farmers, and although their village is in the occupied West Bank, Israel does not recognize it, therefore, it has no infrastructure or any services, including healthcare and running water.
The village is one of many communities in the occupied West Bank, where hundreds of Palestinians, mainly shepherds, have been killed by landmines and explosives dropped by the army, in addition to hundreds of injuries that led to permanent disabilities, since Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967.
On April 25th, 2017, two Palestinian children, from a Bedouin community in the Negev, were killed after an explosive object detonated near them. The unexploded ordnance was apparently dropped by Israeli soldiers during a previous live fire training, in Zarnouk village, in the Negev.

Many Palestinians were also injured by Israeli fire and gas bombs, during the clashes; medical sources said that one of the wounded Palestinians suffered a serious injury.
Israeli soldiers and undercover officers frequently invaded Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, apparently to retrieve the corpse to the slain Palestinian, but young men managed to smuggle his body out of the hospital, and his burial ceremony was held shortly afterwards. It is worth mentioning that Al-Makassed Hospital has issued an urgent call for blood donations, due to the large number of Palestinians, who were shot and injured by Israeli army fire, in different parts of the occupied city. |
Mohammad Mahmoud Sharaf 18
An armed Israeli colonist settler shot and killed, Friday, a Palestinian teenage boy in Ras al-‘Amoud neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem, while Israeli soldiers shot and injured many Palestinians, during ensuing clashes.
The slain Palestinian has been identified as Mohammad Mahmoud Sharaf, 18.
He was shot in the neck with a live round fired by an armed Israeli settler, while the soldiers also attacked and clashed with dozens of Palestinians after preventing them from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers.
The settler opened fire on the Palestinians who weren’t even close to him, and posed no threat, but were only trying to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) has reported that its medics have been unable to reach many wounded Palestinians due to the extensive Israeli military and police deployment, and the strict siege on the entire area.
At least two of the wounded Palestinians suffered life-threatening injuries, the PRC added.
Earlier Friday, Israel decided to prevent all Palestinian men, below the age of fifty, from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, and even Jerusalem’s Old City.
It is worth mentioning that Sharaf has just successfully finished high school, and was preparing to attend a local university for higher education.
Hundreds of Palestinians participated in Sharaf’s burial and funeral ceremony in Sweih neighborhood, in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem.
