Abdul Fatah al-Sabakhi 63
A 63-year-old Palestinian was pronounced dead in the blockaded Gaza Strip after the Israeli occupation authorities prevented him from receiving life-saving treatment at hospitals in Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 (Israel).
Abdul Fatah al-Sabakhi, from Gaza’s al-Nuseirat camp, succumbed to his cancer disease. Sometime earlier, Sabakhi, a former UNRWA employee, reached a hospital in Palestinian territories occupied in 1948. However, the Israeli authorities barred him from continuing medical therapy, resulting in his death.
Over recent weeks, al-Sabakahi’s health condition had sharply gone down, before he died on Tuesday morning.
Al-Sabakhi is one among hundreds of Gazans who died in the besieged coastal enclave of Gaza after they were denied the right to urgent medical referrals and treatment outside of Gaza’s under-equipped hospitals.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights documented an Israeli soldier killing of a Palestinian youth during a Friday demonstration on the Gaza Strip border.
The Euro-Med stressed that pictures footage of the incident and witnesses’ testimonies show Israeli soldiers are avenging the lives of Palestinians.
This policy has been adopted by soldiers for years and has even received support from Israeli leaders, the Euro-Med said.
29-year-old Mohammed Mohaisen from the Gaza Strip, died of his wounds sustained after an Israeli soldier shot him in the chest at less than 50 meters.
According to eyewitnesses, Mohaisen was among dozens of protesters who gathered on the eastern border of Gaza City on Friday, opposing President Trump's Jerusalem declaration.
Journalist Saber Nour al-Din, who documented the incident, said: Muhammad did not pose any threat to the Israeli forces and did not even attempt to cross the border. But an Israeli soldier targeted him anyway."
The footage showed Mohaisen standing less than 50 meters away from Israeli soldiers in a military vehicle.
He appeared to have thrown stones at the soldiers from behind the fence. It clearly shows that he did not pose imminent threat of death to the Israeli forces; there was no justification for targeting him. The way Mohaisen was killed is not a today Israeli policy. It has been in place for years in the Palestinian territories, both in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, but it is more visible on the border with the Gaza Strip, where there is a separation fence between Israeli soldiers and demonstrators. However, Israeli forces do not hesitate to target demonstrators with live ammunition and in the upper parts of the body.
Since the outbreak of protests against President Trump's decision, seven Palestinians have been killed and more than 600 were wounded on the Gaza border. Through these practices, Israel violates both the international humanitarian law and human rights law, where troops are permitted to lethal use of force and firearms only when strictly unavoidable in order to protect human life. The international law permits the use of firearms only "when less extreme measures are insufficient".
"While Israeli military orders stipulate that it is prohibited to fire at the upper part of the body except to avoid the risk of death or serious body harm, Israeli soldiers repeatedly violated these rules, both in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip," said Mirza Bishara, a Euro-Med's legal researcher. "The impunity Israeli soldiers enjoy encourages them to continue on with this arbitrary policy,” Bishara added.
"Unfortunately, this policy is encouraged by Israeli ministers and MPs who make inflammatory and irresponsible statements on the Palestinians, including encouraging soldiers to shoot them to death. Those leaders are as responsible for these killings as soldiers," Bishara stressed.
The Euro-Med assured that the Israeli authorities' record of conducting investigations into cases of arbitrary killing is weak and lacks credibility.
The Euro-Med called upon states parties to the Geneva Conventions and the UN to pressure Israel to stop its disregard for the lives of Palestinians, to hold responsible soldiers accountable, and to abide by the basic principles of the United Nations on the Use of Force and Firearms by law enforcement officials.

Sharif al-‘Abed Shalashel 28
The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that a Palestinian man died, Saturday, from wounds he suffered a week earlier, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry said the young man, Sharif al-‘Abed Shalashel, 28, suffered a serious injury after the soldiers shot him with live fire, and remained in a critical condition until he succumbed to his wounds.
He was injured on the same day when the soldiers killed four Palestinians, and wounded at least 367 others, in the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.
His death came less than a day after the soldiers killed, Friday, two Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Nabil Moheisin, 29, from Sheja’eyya neighborhood, east of the city, and Zakariya al-Kafarna, 24, from Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza.
The Health Ministry said Sharif’s death, brings the number of Palestinians, who were killed by Israeli army fire since the U.S. President made his illegal recognition of occupied Jerusalem as a unified capital of Israel, on October 6th, to fourteen Palestinians, in addition to at least 3000 Palestinians who were injured by army fire.

Israeli forces have shot and killed two Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip during clashes along the border fence with Israel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The first Palestinian was identified as 24-year-old Zakariya al-Kafarne, who was killed after being shot with live ammunition by Israeli forces during clashes in eastern Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip.
A second Palestinian protestor was also pronounced dead, though their identity remained unknown.
Protesters had marched following Friday prayers and protested near the border fence in response to calls from Palestinian factions for a third “Friday of Rage” in protest of US President Donald Trump's announcement earlier this month recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Israeli soldiers opened fire on protesters with live bullets, tear gas and stun grenades.
The two slain Palestinians on Friday brings the death toll of Palestinians killed by Israel since Trump’s announcement to 12 -- eight killed in clashes, and four killed in airstrikes.
Meanwhile, the ministry of health reported that more than 40 Palestinians were injured during clashes in Gaza, including several with live bullets.
A Palestinian youth dressed as Santa Claus was also injured in the legs with live bullets during clashes in southern Gaza and was transferred to the European Hospital for treatment.

Zakariyya al-Kafarne 24
A Palestinian youth was martyred on Friday when Israeli troops used live ammunition to disperse protesters on the Gaza Strip’s eastern border with Israel.
"The young man, Zakariyya al-Kafarne, 24, was killed after being shot in the head," Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman for Gaza’s Health Ministry, said in a statement.
Fierce clashes erupted Friday between Palestinian youths and Israeli troops on the Gaza Strip’s eastern border with Israel.
Friday’s rallies were organized by Gaza-based Palestinian political factions to voice rejection of the recent U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Palestinian youths threw stones at Israeli army personnel stationed on the strip’s eastern border, to which Israeli troops responded with teargas, rubber bullets and live ammunition.
Several youths received medical treatment at the scene after suffering temporary asphyxia due to excessive teargas inhalation.
For the third week in a row, the Palestinian territories saw rallies on Friday against U.S. President Donald Trump's controversial decision on Dec. 6 to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Jerusalem remains at the heart of the perennial Middle East conflict, with Palestinians hoping that East Jerusalem might eventually serve as the capital of an independent Palestinian state.

Friday’s events brought the death toll over the past week to 10 -- six Palestinians had previously been killed by Israeli forces over the past week, four in airstrikes and two in clashes.
Palestinians have vowed to continue protesting Trump’s unprecedented decision, which Palestinian and Arab leaders warned would cause instability and unrest in the region.
Trump’s announcement was the first step to a drastic abdication of longstanding US policy that has largely adhered to international standards on Israel-Palestine, which maintains that East Jerusalem is an intricate part of occupied Palestinian territory and the capital of any future Palestinian state, despite Israel’s annexation of the territory.
The fate of Jerusalem has been a focal point of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for decades, with numerous tensions arising over Israeli threats regarding the status of non-Jewish religious sites in the city, and the "Judaization" of East Jerusalem through settlement construction and mass demolitions of Palestinian homes.
Also read: Israel: International law strictly regulates the use of force in the context of protests and demonstrations, and the lethal use of firearms should only be employed as the last resort when strictly unavoidable in order to protect life, Zeid said.
