Report By The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) – A Palestinian teenager was attacked in the street today by Israeli forces as he made his way through Hebron’s Old City. While talking with an NGO worker, the 18-year old was rushed by soldiers and beaten in broad daylight.
Bleeding, he was taken into the nearby Bab Al-Baladiyeh military base where is he is currently detained. It is not yet known whether he will be arrested, but he can be held without charge for 7 days.
In the immediate aftermath, friends of the boy threw stones at the base’s gates in protest. Soldiers emerged from the base firing volleys of tear gas and stun grenades. The boys ran, but after a manhunt, through the Old City two were found and detained in the base. Soldiers refused to explain their actions when questioned by ISM activists.
A manhunt continued through the tunnels of the Old City, with conflicting reports suggesting another boy may have been detained. The soldiers eventually passed through the Ibrahimi mosque checkpoint towards Shahuda street, where ISM activists were harassed and spat on by Israeli forces.
The two young boys were eventually released from detention, but the 18-year old is still being held, along with possibly another boy. Israeli soldiers and security officers attacked, Wednesday, nonviolent Palestinian protesters, and journalists, in the courtyard if the International Red Cross center in occupied East Jerusalem, injured one Palestinian, and abducted three others.
The head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) in Jerusalem, Nasser Qous, said the soldiers invaded the yard of the Red Cross and abducted Ahmad Safadi, Mohammad Daqqaq, and Kayed Rajabi.

Abdul-Rahman Saleh, the head of Silwad Local Council, said the soldiers shot Ibrahim Hamed, and abducted him, and added that the extent of his injury remains unknown.
Saleh also stated that dozens of residents, including children and woman, suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation, especially after the soldiers deliberately fired gas bombs at many homes in the town.
It is worth mentioning that the soldiers surrounded Silwad since early morning hours, and invaded it several times, leading to clashes.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched on Monday night an arrest campaign that lasted until dawn on Tuesday in a number of cities and towns in the West Bank amid confrontations between Palestinian youths and IOF soldiers.
The PIC reporter said that the IOF arrested two Palestinian youths from Tell town to the west of Nablus city.
Eyewitnesses reported that more than 15 Israeli military vehicles stormed Tell town where the IOF soldiers launched a large-scale search campaign against the Palestinian citizens' houses. Violent clashes broke out in which heavy firing of sound and gas bombs were witnessed before the two youths were arrested.
A large Israeli force raided Balata refugee camp to the east of Nablus city, searched a number of houses and stationed on their roofs. The Palestinian youths responded by throwing stones at the IOF soldiers.
Meanwhile, special Israeli forces along with the Israeli intelligence stormed Yatta town to the south of al-Khalil, searched dozens of houses and arrested a Palestinian woman.
Rateb al-Jabour, the coordinator of the anti-settlement national and popular committees, said that more than 150 soldiers raided Yatta town, attacked dozens of citizens and wreaked havoc in their houses.
Other raid and arrest campaigns were launched in Azzun town to the east of Qalqilya city in which clashes with the IOF erupted.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that several military vehicles broke into the town at dawn and clashed with Palestinian youths who threw stones at them in a scene that is witnessed daily in Azzun.

Clashes erupted on Sunday, between Palestinians in the al-Matar neighborhood, to the north of occupied Jerusalem, and Israeli soldiers, after the latter stormed the area and handed out notices for the demolition of four buildings there, according to witnesses.
WAFA correspondence reported witnesses as saying that Israeli forces stormed the neighbourhood and shut down a building, before serving demolition orders against four under-construction buildings in the area, provoking clashes with residents. No injuries were reported.
The orders came under the pretext of being constructed too close to the apartheid wall, which separates the neighbourhood from Qalandia airport.
Forces also seized two vehicles belonging to residents in the neighbourhood.

The abducted fishermen have been identified as Mohammad Abu Warda, 27, his brothers Yousef, 22, and Hussein 14. The three siblings and their boat were taken to the Ashdod Port.
In an earlier attack, the navy attacked fishing boats, abducted three Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Sa’id Bakr, Mohammad Tareq Bakr, and Abdullah Sabri Bakr, and destroyed 60 fishing nets in the Sudaniyya Sea.
